What should I do now?

When I first began playing online poker I told myself if i lose all my money I was done or if I hit my goal I was done. Yesterday I hit my goal... should I cash-out or continue?

Pick emotion, I don't know how I feel.

Re: What should I do now?

My first choice would be to let me have a shot with it.
Otherwise take some profits get yourself something and continue to reach your goal.

Re: What should I do now?

I agree with midnyte. Take out the winnings and keep the initial "principal deposit" in there. If you want to continue playing, that is. That way you have some extra money to spend and still have the potential to make more playing online. At least this way, you're not jeopardizing what you've actually won, you know?

Re: What should I do now?

if playing online was just an experiment for you, and you're satisfied taking all the money out and being done with it, then do that.

if you think that you want to continue to play online and improve, move up to higher levels, etc, then i would recommend taking out half of your profit.

if you started with $50 and have built it up to $100, take out $25 and leave $75 in there. set a new goal for yourself at $150. when you get there, take out $50 and leave $100, etc.

Re: What should I do now?

First, congrats on reaching your goal...

I play P* primarily and whenever I pass ~$300, I cash out $200...for me, I do this to prevent playing above my set bankroll and removes the temptation to play in a big cash game after tourney cashes...plus, I need the occasional $200 cheques to support my CHIPTALK related costs!!!!

I cannot offer any advice, as this concept is so completely alien to me. Why would you stop making money?

Re: What should I do now?

Cash out your original deposit and keep on playing with the winnings. As Smoore said "Why quit when you are winning?"
