God I hate you Party Poker.

Friday I buy into a $10+1 Stud tournament.
On the second hand, I end up getting an open pair of aces. This asshat calls me to the river with nothing but somehow ends up getting two pair, so I lose about 300 chips.

Then, the tournament crashes.

So, I figure they'll just send my buyin back. Well, not exactly. They only refund me $10.50 because of the lost chips. Now, it's $0.50, it's not going to make or break me, but I still sent them an e-mail telling them how asinine it is for them to not refund my entire buyin when I was only able to play a total of 2 hands in the tournament. I know this is their policy and blah blah blah, but don't you think it's pretty stupid to apply not even 1 minute in?

Anyways, they put 10 cents into my account (!!!) as a sign of goodwill and "offered" me a 20% bonus up to $100 (which is just a bonus I haven't used yet). Sweet thing is it's only 5x raked hands within 30 days. I might have to take them up on that even though their limit stud games blow nuts.

that does kinda blow.....its stories like this that make hesitate to get in on some of this online fun.....fifty bux is fifty bux after all

Well online poker is great, but I just think this rule is applied a little too literally. We're talking about 2 hands here, not halfway through the tournament.

What's up with all these sites having problem after big upgrades?

UB is still have intermittent slow down and outages and I've heard a decent number PP stories also. Let's hope that P* doesn't have any upgrades planned in the near future.

I often feel unsettled when stuff like that happens. Sites seem to do things at the same time. A few months ago, within a few days of each other, a bunch of sites changed their bonus clearing policies to make it harder (and less worthwhile) to clear bonuses. It makes me feel like the sites are colluding against us.

I just plain hate online poker! Got beat today twice with idiots calling to the end with 7-4 off and 5-3 suited and I had a full house on one hand and KKQQ the other beat by a flush.
Those programs must be designed to insure that someone ALWAYS sucks out in order to increase the rake.

I hate PartyPoker almost as much as I hate playing A-K. Referring to Yeltzen's other thread about A-K, you can read it this way and save a yourself a search... I hate playing A-K almost as much as I hate PartyPoker.

I was playing a SNG on Paradise when it crashed once.

They refunded everyone who was still in the tournament the full $11 buy-in.

Two people had been knocked out, and they split their total of $20 between the remaining players according to chip stack. Seems like a more rational approach to me.
