Chips: 203 | | | Stat tracking What is the best program for tracking your stats for online poker rooms? I just started a real money account at party poker. It is my only real money account but I may branch out in the future, after building my bankroll. Are the tracking programs free? |

I use pokertracker mostly because it was the one I had heard about the most and they offered an Omaha version. Pokeroffice is a bit newer and some folks prefer.
Checkout 2+2's software forum, there is always a bunch of discussion about the 2 programs.
Also, PT lets you collect 1k hands unless they've changed it recently. |

It's better for smaller sites where you can actually use the information since you play against the same people a lot. On Party, it's still useful, but people come and go there and you hardly ever play the same people. |

Until recently, you could even capture observed hands (datamine) at PP which made this easy. |

This doesn't really have to do with stats, but I hope that you are taking full advantage of the beginner's tables with your new Party Poker account. They are available to your account only for a limited time and under a separate tab. These tables are full of very loose, terrible players making for a very profitable game (albeit with some big swings). (Obviously, not every at the tables is terrible, but the percentage of poor players is pretty high.) They also have lower limits in the beginner's section, but the average pots are still great -- as I remember, the .25/.50 pots were often as big as the .50/1 in the regular section.
Since the section is smaller and more limited than the "regular" PP tables, you will actually see the same people over and over again, which does help whether you use PT or PO or just plain notes. I stumbled on these by accident and made a nice bit of cash in my time there. If you're not already playing these tables, check them out -- you won't be sorry! |
