one of the many dangers of slowplay

i'm not really one to post a bad beat, but this one was a real stinger... i usually don't slowplay either, but i thought that i had this one in the bag... 1st table of a double shootout satellite to the p*s $1 mil guaranteed... not that i had a great starting hand, or even a good one, but hey, i limped in from the bb... little did i know...

That does suck.
With the all in and then the call of the all in, maybe you could have figured someone for 55, 66, or A4, but in the heat of the moment, that's really hard to play through your mind. Every once in a while a BBS bites you in the ass.

Yesterday in a tournament I got pocket fours raised to 300 pre-flop (3xBB), flop came 10-4-10, giving me fours full of tens. Checked to slow play, other guy bets 300, I pause and call. Turn comes 6, I check, he goes all in, I have him covered by about 500 and call immediately. I turn over my pocket fours, he turns over pocket sevens giving him two pair. River came.....7, giving him a higher full house. If I had gone all-in after the flop, he probably would have folded. Very next hand I got pocket nines, went all-in, got two callers and more than tripled up.
