Re: Got Hammered

Well, it doesn't really count, since you gave him the free flop. (Blind vs. blind play has been really killing me in tournaments lately).

Aside from that, how often do you call the check raise here? If you both had the same stack size, what's your plan on the turn if you continue? No criticisms, just curious.

Re: Got Hammered

i would have doubled the bb maybe 3x it to get this gus hansen hands in the muck. that was just a BB special.. it happeneds alot..

i was last to act in a live game.
i rasied 2x bb
sb calls
bb fold
flop j-10-2
sb bets 1.5x bb
i call
turn - 8
sb bets 2x bb
i call
river i forgot.. but it didnt help either way
sb bets 2x bb
i go all in for 5xbb or so..
he shows J-2
i show 10-8 and lose.

simple "i knew he had a jack, but cheap bet on the flop called, i improved my hand thinking i got him, and i should have either folded or rasied him preflop. so i lost 20 something out of 43 in my live game saturday.. kinda the same deal as above..

Not sure what check/raise you are referencing?

Whoops. He had position on you. Never mind.

Wouldn't be a bad idea though to use the hand converter if you're going to be posting lots of hands. That way I won't look like an idiot all of the time, just sometimes.

Re: Got Hammered

I'm not big on raising from the SB. To be honest, I hate playing blind hands in general; they always seem to get me in trouble.

Case in point.

If that's the case, then just fold PF. Saves time, and it's almost like chopping.
