Chips: 1,845 | | | Poker Tracker Stats I haven't used PT yet, but I see lots of people talking about and the stats it apparently generates. Can someone give me a crash course and what a lot of this means? I see VP$IP and PFR talked about. I know this means voluntarily put money in and preflop raising, but what do the numbers mean? At what VP$IP level are you too loose, that sort of thing. |

So, for myself, I have 14.09 VP$IP... that means on 14% of my hands, I voluntarily put money in the pot. This should surprise exactly no one, of course. Same with the PFR number. Mine is 5.87%. So that means, when I enter a pot, I'm raising a little over 1/3 of the time.
There's other percentages, too... like how often you go to the showdown when you enter the pot (25% for me) and how often you win those showdowns (75% for me). How much rake you've contributed, how much you've won, how many BB/100 Hands you've won, your aggression rating, and general ratings for each player you've played against.
They also have these goofy "attempted to steal and folded to steal" percentages, but I think they're bogus. They have no way of knowing if it was a steal or not.
Anyways, it's mildy useful for limit, IMO. I think tournament play would see more benefits from it, since you really need to know how everyone plays. In limit, whether someone is kinda-loose or kinda-tight isn't going to affect the way you play THAT much.
Gimme some neg rep if this helped!!! |

Chips: 100 | | | Re: Poker Tracker Stats I'm not a PokerTracker expert but I basically use it to track my ROI and hand histories. It has useful information like your win % in the BB, SB, UTG, etc., how many times you lost with AK, session summaries, and a whole bunch of other things. Take a look at the screenshots here if you haven't already done so: http://www.pokertracker.com/screenshots.html.
It's not able to import hand histories for ALL the online poker rooms out there but it does support many of the major ones. Just be sure to check the list of poker clients that it does support to make sure the ones you play on can be used with PokerTracker. |

UB is a pain in the butt, though, because you need a separate program to do it, and the hand history windows have to be open, which pop up every two seconds and get annoying. |

Just as a for instance, winning 75% of showdowns is a high figure. Either you have a really small sample size, or you are folding too many winners. |

So if I understand correctly, a VP$IP of 15% indicates pretty tight play. So somewhere around 20-30% is probably normal and above that is loosey-goosey?
And then what is the aggression a measure of? I'm sure PFR is part of it, but it takes into account other things? Is the baseline 1 and the higher it is the more aggressive you are? |

When I was playing limit I would could the HH from the email and save them to a notepad file and import them from there. For the last month or so I haven't been able to get it to work. Anyone else having a problem. O I also am playing mostly sng's now but that shouldn't make a difference should it since I've been selecting them to go into the MTT stats |

Is the baseline 1 and the higher it is the more aggressive you are? | According to the default rating rules, 20% or lower VP$IP is tight play. 20%-30% is "semi-loose" and anything higher is loose. For example, a "Fish" has VP$IP higher than 30%, a PFR of under 5% and an aggression less than 2.
2 is the measuring stick for aggression. Higher than two is "aggressive" lower than 2 is "passive". My aggression is 2.20. So, you guessed it, I'm rated as an EAGLE. OH YEAH BABY! Aggression is rated as post-flop. You can include preflop if you want, but it really drags your rating down because you're usually playing very few hands. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
