Chips: 7,134 | | | Favorite/Least Favorite Sites and Why Just curious as to what the most popular sites are and why. For me:
Good: Party Poker - loosest limit games anywhere. Tournaments always cap/good prize pools. Bonuses are so easy to clear. Ultimate Bet - awesome bonuses if you play 2/4 or higher. Mini-view is awesome for multi-tabling. Poker Stars - I pretty much only play in the CT.net tournies here, but I play in some other tournaments as well because they pay off a higher percentage of players than Party.
Bad: Bodog - played here for a while... very little action at limit tables. Lucky to find one with more than 6 players at any level. Tournaments hardly ever fill up (most times the "guaranteed" prize pool had to cover a big gap in buy-ins). Nice software and limitless bonuses, though. Paradise - never offer bonuses, software makes my computer die, not many limit games. Cool-looking software though. |

I haven't played there recently but I seem to remember the starting stacks being kind of light. Quote: | Ultimate Bet - awesome bonuses if you play 2/4 or higher. | What bonuses are you referring to? They do offer a lot of reload bonuses but not sure what it has to do with 2/4 or higher tables. As for mini-view, I could never get used to it enough to use it much.
Currently, I have primarily been playing at P* but I'm thinking of going back to either PP or UB (waiting for a reload bonuses). I've never cared much for the interface at PP but I do like the data mining option with PT to quickly get basic stats on folks and such. Now that I've switch over to NLHE as my primary cash game, there's probably less reason to stay at P* and I may actually go back to UB as long as I don't play PLO8 there. Personally, I don't have any complaints regarding P* but a change of pace is nice every now and then. |

It's really, really hard to earn UBs full bonus if you play limit at anything under 2/4. You earn points very slowly. You need like 10 UPs to earn $1... you'll play for an hour at 1/2 and they'll be like "Congratulations! You've earned 6 Ultimate Points!"
There actually is a reload bonus right now if you use Netellar. 25% up to $100 I think. They don't advertise it, though, so who knows. Worth a shot, though... you can always try to deposit and cancel it if they don't offer the bonus. |

P*: Great software, great support. Games are fairly tight and they very rarely run bonuses.
Full Tilt: Playing here now. Games are tighter than P*, didn't think that was possible. Bonus is tough to clear. I like the software though. I've only played limit ring games here.
Once my bonus period is up on Full Tilt I'll probably look for something else. I've only played play money at Party Poker many many months ago. You mentioned their bonuses are easy to clear. What are they like? I would typically be playing anywhere from 1/2 to 3/6 limit. |

At 1/2 and above, this is a snap because they don't base it on the amount of rake, just that it was raked.
Of course, now they're splitting from their other skins, so the bonuses look like they'll be getting more stingy. |

Nice software and limitless bonuses, though. | I have a friend that makes a living playing on Bodog. He mixes it up between HU tourneys, S&G's, and cash tables. Says he does so much better on Bodog because most of thier money is generated on sports betting, not poker. He makes a killing of the wagering sports guys that log on to make bets, then decide that they know how or want to play hold 'em.
Im not crazy about Bodogs software though. You have one main window, then smaller boxes for your other tables. This means you have to constantly hover over the smaller windows, or you'll find yourself getting timed out all the time.
This bugs the crap out of me, as I am spoiled with P*, where the window automatically pops up when the action is on you.

I play on P* and Bodog and PokerRoom (until the ChipTalk Tilters team action faded). I like P* because it works well with PokerTracker. Wish Bodog would come around and do hand histories like other online poker rooms so I can start tracking my action on Bodog in PokerTracker. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
