Got my first Royal Flush today playing in the cut-off. Board came .

Here's my question. What are the odds that you will have a Royal Flush on the river before the first two cards are dealt?

Congrats, I've had 6 or so straight flushes, the highest was to the King.

my math is rusty on the subject.

in 5 cards, it should be
5!/(52!/47!)=chance of making it in a particular suit*4 (for the 4 diff royals possible)

so 480/311875200 = 1/650k or so.
but that's for 5 cards. what about when you allow for two blanks?

also - what about a "board" royal or one card royal (say you only hold the A in your hand)

maybe i was vague: that's for 5 cards. i don't know how to do a seven card board.

Not sure how you calculated that but perhaps simply using 7 instead of 5 cards would do it?
