Don't you have quads? Oops, nope you don't. I was wondering what you were doing seeing the flop until I notice you were the BB. I haven't touch O8 for so long, I don't even know what are good starting hands and what are bad starting hands.

I still play the tournaments. Not a lot of cash action - unless I get hit hard in HE. The pacific limit HE games are just too soft. I would need to find a good 5/10 O8 game to make the same $$$ - and my bankroll is just not there yet.


I do not remember ever having been dealt quads before in o8.

This was a wild one- $5 O8 LIMIT - with rebuys. One hand flopped three aces - with the useless 4th on the turn.

made it to about 50th (from like 220). Never picked up a hand the last 5 rounds. That is fine with me in cash games - but kills in tournaments.

Should note I actually won $7.50 with it. Potted PF and flop to take it down.

Yea - that (to my knowledge) was the first time that I have held 4 of a kind in my hand. I have hit quads in the game - but this felt special. 'sigh'

Kind of like AA23 ds - in recent memory I have hit this hand twice. Once was a big loss - one a big win (turned the flush and rivered the low).

At least in PL - there are other ways to win. You would have had to see the river with that one in limit. Stil a chance with AA - but not a great one.

Cardplayer has a free calculator for O8 - if I could access it at work I could get you some %. Maybe later.

I've had quads 3 or 4 times in the last 6 mos but I also went through a "bad" period several months back where I played over 20k PLO8 hands online in less than 3 months. I kept winning so it was hard to stop, started losing and I found it much easier to play less.
