You may also want to try changing your playing style at the SH tables. Many times, a bad run is not caused by the cards going south - as much as the playing strategy vs the field. I was simply crushing SH tables on pacific, but ran into somewhat of a bad spell. Once I looked over the hands and players- I realized that I was not adjusting my game as the tables got looser. I tend to play a VERY aggressive style shorthanded (yes - I will raise 72 suited given the right situation) and this was working against me when the table texture was loose passive. I was still pulling in the monster hand pots that would have won anyway (flushes, nut st8s, FH, etc) , but was getting schooled by the loose play at the table. Basically - I was loosing more on my marginal hands because there were many chasers.
Instead of trying to build the stack by taking down many smaller pots - I had to be more paitent and try to build a better pot the times I held the goods. Preflop raising when 4+ players are going to call anyway is right out unless you are holding a PREMIUM hand.
The moral is to recognize when you game needs to be adjusted. Sometimes it is not the cards - it is you.
