Advanced to Round 2 satellite for WCOOP event...

heh... I qualified for the Round 2 Satellite for WCOOP Event #11 Limit Omaha H/L today by entering a 90 FPP Round 1 Satellite and finishing 3rd out of 166 players.

Funny thing about it is I only started playing Omaha H/L last night with mixed results. Today I figured what the heck it's only 90 FPP's let's see how far I get. I never imagined I would end up that high. I just applied what I know about Hold'em, played what seemed sensible and gambled on some low hands.

Is it possible to just cash-out the 900 FPP entry fee for the satellite or am I stuck playing? I honestly don't think I'm going to go very far in round 2.

I highly doubt you can cashout. But I'm not really a PS expert.

I have found Omaha H/L ring games and tournaments to be really easy. I've never read up about it or anything and I've cashed every time I've played in one. Most of the people in these games are either half-retarded or just don't care or just don't know the rules.

Yes, just go to the tournament you qualified for and hit the unregister button.

Nice finish.

Personally, I find O8 much easier than HE and play NL/PL O8 ring games almost exclusively. I'd agree with your thoughts about placing in the next round. My guess is most of the really good O8 players probably skip the 90 FPP tourney and go right to the 900 FPP tourney.

Good luck if you decide to go forward with it. Check out some online sites for info and try 2+2 for some good info.

Go to the tournament lobby and hit "unregister" - they will give you the FPP points. They also will do this for cash tournaments.

Good showing in the torunamnet. O8 ones are tough as there is little information on torunament strategy. I do not how much more difficult the 900 FPP sat would be - but chances are it will be tougher. You might find some of the better players - but on the average it will be soft compated to the true tournament. If you do plan on playing - let me know and I can post some basic strategy that may be helpful.

Now I remember. Omaha high-low is where you constantly give your a neighbor a peek at your hand and say, "Pssst -- what the hell do I have?"

lol... It was funny how different the level of chat is between Omaha H/L and the THE tournies I've played in.

Texas Hold 'em chat: lots of posturing, bragging, complaints that the site is rigged. The ocasional "nh" and even rarer "ty". Once in a while you get "how's the weather in Des Moines this time of year?"

Omaha H/L: *crickets* *pot splashing* *crickets* *cards dealt* -rinse & repeat-
