the problem is that in the early going there are more loose players that'll make goofy hands against you. there are also more hands out there, so more KQs and AA types. |
The min raise is pretty much a nusiance raise. Does not do anything bit make the pot a bit bigger. Sometimes it can be a good play with a strong hand (like KK or AA) - as you are trying to goad someone into a reraise. JTos - might as well limp if you really want to play it - or put in a standard raise if you are in loose - aggressive mode.
99 - guy needs a clue
AA - eh - aces get cracked a lot when facing 3 players. I would have raised more preflop (60 raise into a 80 pot is asking for callers).
KQs - is one of those tricky hands. Not entirely unreasonable in calling the preflop action - and postflop, the field is giving him odds to call - if he thinks his flush will be good.
About 400 in preflop, 2840 in postflop so far (780 + 780 + 1280) so 1280 to win 3240 (plus more if the others call) gives him 2.5:1 odds (or 5:2). 3:2 to make the flush by the river vs 5:2 odds.
I am assuming that this is a low limit game here - higher limit games with better players would realize that the flush card will often make a FH as well- and you should modify your thinking to exclude an out or 2. More realistically - thnk of 6 outs being good for the flush and the odds now are junk ( 6 outs would be like 3.5:1 against) . But you have to base the overall thinking on the play of the opponents level so I would fully expect a call here from a flush draw. In fact - I would be hoping for one.
The important thing - looks like you had 160 in chips left - with some time ot be paitent (ok - really close to the red zone, but still somewhat early). Did you manage to survive for a while?
