Chips: 2,131 | | | Getting bad cards? Sit out for a few hands! I found this while searching for AA bad-beats in my histories, and at first freaked out when I saw that I had folded AA pre-flop. Upon closer inspection I realized it was because I was sitting out (probably for a peepee break). I had to laugh at my ridiculously bad timing. So for all you folks who think, "ehh, I'll just sit out for a few to take a leak/smoke/grab a beer--what's the odds of catching anything playable during that time?", check out what I got when I sat out for only FIVE frickin' hands:

BTW, the AA hand actually would have held up, too (thanks to chipper for telling me what his no-show winner was). |

Chips: 12 | | I wouldn't be surprised if someone replies to your post saying that the site is rigged and only gave you good cards because you were sitting out... |

Chips: 13,254 | | | Or better yet, stay in the hands and just fold. Tell yourself "I'm only playing AA, KK, QQ, JJ or AK, regardless of position." Stick to it for a bit. |

Stick to it for a bit. | i first read "positively 5th street" about a month after starting NLHE. mcmanus uses this several times at the wsopme, usually when he takes a tough beat. he says he'll not play a hand for two orbits, unless it's AA or KK.
at the time, i thought that was outrageous, until 2 years later when i became mr. uber-tight tournament guy. |

Chips: 13,925 | | | Had a good one live. Large MTT being run by Rockford Charitable. About an hour in - nature is calling BAD. Fold and run to the facilities hoping that there is no line. Lucky me.
Get back just in time for the next hand (sitting before he starts dealing).
AA
whooooo
Not a montster pot - but would have sucked to be 10 seconds later.
Live poker is rigged. |
