tweaking of tourny scoring

I was tempted to do something more drastic but then you'd have a problem doing the yearly ToC points. This is just simply to acknowledge that since the tournies are now getting big enough to reasonably payout 5 spots, they should get a little extra help points-wise.

For the next TOC, what about having all of the weekly winners included in the tournament no matter what their point total is, and also include the next 5 highest point totals from those that did not win a weekly tournament. For example, if we had 13 weekly tourments and had 13 different winners, they would automatically qualify for the TOC. For those that did not win a tournament, we would pick the top 5 point leaders for 18 total players. If we had only 10 different winners, we would pick the top 8 point leaders. You know what I mean??? If 2 tables are too much than some tweaking can be made to this system.

Just a thought. Sorry if this was already mentioned in a previous post.

I still like total points from your best 8 events for the qToC. I also like keeping them to 9.

i agree. i think entry should depend on one's overall performance over the 3 months.

We should just go with the overall system that we agreed to since we're at the end of the first quarter (with the small exception of the tiny scoring tweak if others think it's a good idea). If there is widespread dissatisfaction with the system we can open up the debate at the end of the year as to how we want it to be next year. For now, we are locked in, IMHO.

Agreed. We'll likely pick up other players throughout this first year, and we should stick with the agreed system to make it fair throughout the year.

To further complicate things, since we play on Thursday's, one of those will obviously be Thanksgiving.

I propose next year each "quarter" is comprised of 12 weeks, and your best 7 results are counted for the quarterly point standings. That will give us a little play and a tad more flexibility for ToC scheduling.
