Official Chiptalk.net Tournament #5

The 5th Chiptalk.net poker tournament has been set up!

The tournament will run the same as before. The tournament will be hosted on Poker Stars on Thursday, June 2nd at 9:30pm Eastern (6:30pm Pacific).

If you don't have a Poker Stars account yet, please visit www.pokerstars.com for information on how you can create an account.

The entry fee will be $10+1. The top 3 finishers will be in the money (27 or less players) and 2 payout spots added for 28-45, another 4 for 46+ players.

The tournament will once again be a No-Limit Texas Hold'em format with 15 minute blinds. Each player will start out with 1500 chips.

To get the password, we've updated the tournament password web page. The password is different than last week so don't try using the old one. The password can be found at:

That web page will be visible to all registered Chiptalk.net viewers.

Ooooh, I'm itchin for this one. I feel the need to redeem myself. 5th or better is my prediction. Good luck to all.

This week we need to put a bounty on SpaceMonkey - no two time winner should go unpunished. Of course, that could just be sour grapes on my part!

I am about 4:1 odds for being able to play this week. Work has gotten hectic lately.

Any reason why the password doesn't get posted with the weekly announcement? I scramble for it before every tourney trying to reserve my spot before it's too late.

I always sign up at the last minute because I have a young child and I like to make sure my time is clear before I register. I always get through just fine but I'm curious as to why.

It's not posted publically because it's for members only. It's a lot of fun knowing that the people you're playing with are people you talk to or read from every day.

I'm in.

I checked into the private cash game. No go. They made private tournaments and private heads-up tables available to me, but said they do not offer private cash tables to anyone. I specifically mentioned that I'd heard that 1000 FPP opens the magic door to private cash tables (as jojo stated) and they said no private cash tables are available for anyone.

So, those interested can grab an open cash table like we did last week, and we can fill it with tournament bustouts (or multitablers, if you want to play both).
