Official Chiptalk.net Tournament #3

* Tournament to be held at PokerStars.com!
Click the link to set up an account if you don't have one!

The 3rd Chiptalk.net poker tournament has been set up!

The tournament will run the same as before. The tournament will be hosted on Poker Stars on Thursday, May 19th at 9:30pm Eastern (6:30pm Pacific).

If you don't have a Poker Stars account yet, please visit www.pokerstars.com for information on how you can create an account.

The entry fee will be $10+1. The top 3 finishers will be in the money (27 or less players) and 2 payout spots added for 28-45, another 4 for 46+ players.

**Additional Prizes! HoldemPokerChips.com is sponsoring the following additional prizes:

1. $50 HPC gift certificate for the winner!
2. $20 to anyone that knocks MSPatton out of the game!

The tournament will once again be a No-Limit Texas Hold'em format with 15 minute blinds. Each player will start out with 1500 chips.

To get the password, we've updated the tournament password web page. The password is different than last week so don't try using the old one. The password can be found at:

http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/template.php?page=7

That web page will be visible to all registered Chiptalk.net viewers.

Hope to see even more players this week!

If anyone wants to organize a weekend tournament please start a new thread.

Sure will... as soon as I make a pot sized bet out of position on you, I *must* be trying to dump chips, so you should just push.

Sounds like a plan To paraphrase Animal House:

Sometimes the situation calls for a really stupid and futile gesture. And I'm just the guy to do it

I can't make it this week.

It's too bad we're keeping with weekly tournaments.

What's wrong with a weekly tournament? I haven't been able to play in the first two but I hope to play this week.

Perhaps if we throw away the idea of a tournament leaderboard and just have an organized weekly game we'll all end up having more fun. We might not need the added pressure of having to make every week else risk losing position on a leaderboard.

For now, it will be a weekly thing with an occasional weekend game. Frequency and times will change sooner or later - but for now we'll go with this.

the leaderboard is not at odds with having fun. it's a record-keeping tool. just playing, or just finishing in the top half, won't do much for your standing. what it's really about is final tables. guys that play in 6/10 and are studs will do better than guys that play 10/10 and are donkeys. no offense to the donks out there.

i like it b/c i like to keep records. that's all...
