All events are rake-free. And in addition to cash, there are several non-monetary prizes from our generous sponsors:
Please post interest in this thread, preferably indicating day(s)/event(s) you would most likely attend.
* All mixed cash games depend on sufficient interest, and might be replaced by NLHE to conform with the status quo.
Traveling by car:
It shouldn't be difficult to coordinate car-pooling from Kitchener-Waterloo (5.5 hours), Toronto (4.5 hours), or Montreal (2 hours). And of course, non-Canadian CTers are welcome, too: Ottawa is just over 3 hours up the I-85 from Syracuse, or...
Traveling by plane:
Ottawa has an international airport (YOW), with direct flights to/from major Eastern USA hubs (New York, Boston, Chicago, Washington, Philadelphia, Orlando, etc.), not to mention several Canadian cities (Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Halifax, St. John's, etc.). And if several CTers are flying in around the same time, perhaps we could coordinate a pick-up from the airport (?).
Accommodations:
As you can imagine, the nation's capital has quite a few hotels. If you aren't looking for anything fancy, there are some affordable ones close by. In fact, there's even one within walking distance! Let me know what you need and I'll hook you up. See post #27 for some recommendations.
Site-seeing:
If you haven't been to Ottawa before, you might want to have a look around, and - dare I suggest - maybe even skip out on some poker to take a tour, see a museum, or at the very least, wander around the parliament buildings.
Chipping:
And of course there will be plenty of time for showing off chips, trading sample sets, etc.
Pics of Ottawa (stolen from the web):

Re: BOO2: Battle Of Ontario - April 23-25, 2010 - Ottawa
Man, I am going to really try to make it to this event. If it was a little closer I would consider driving to see the scenery (I still may). How far in advance would I need to book rooms, is it really busy there in April?
Edit: Just saw the distantly behind my name, LOL that's the truth!!

i am most definitely interested. i should be able to block that weekend.
i can save some cash for the games you've suggested.
i'd need perhaps the address where we'll be playing so i can look for accomodations. or if you can pm suggestions that'd be great.

If you want a 5-star room downtown, then I dunno... but if you just need a place to crash, you shouldn't need to look far in advance.

Nah, I would just need a place to crash. 5-star would be spending extra chip money imo!

While I realize the union jack is a big part of the Ontario flag, I think this logo is a bit too red-white-blue and not enough red. Just my .02 on what looks like it will be an awesome chip!
