Battle of Ontario (BOO)
Chiptalk.net meet-up and poker tournament

There will be poker games throughout the day on multiple tables. The "main event" will feature a HORSE tournament. Side no-limit hold'em (NLHE) sit-n-go tournaments and cash games of various stakes are also anticipated. And it's all happening right here in Toronto in a spacious "party room" (with full kitchen, bathroom, outdoor smoking area, etc.).


BYOB, snacks, etc. There will be some complimentary snacks (pizza?) and non-alcoholic beverages. Please don't drink and drive!



Tournament details:

• Main event HORSE tournament is expected to take ~ 8 hours to complete. $100 buy-in with no re-buys or add-ons. A proposed blind structure (assuming 8 players) can be seen here: http://individual.utoronto.ca/jdunford/chips/BOO.pdf
• NLHE sit-n-go style tourneys (3-4 hours?) might have $20-$50 buy-ins (TBD) and might have a limited re-buy format (like 1 re-buy or add-on before the first break, etc.).
• Cash table(s) could feature a variety of poker games, with stakes varying from $0.25/$0.50 ($50 max buy-in) to $1/$2 NL ($200 max buy-in). Unlimited re-buy/top-up to the table max buy-in.

If you don't want to play in the HORSE tourney, that's ok... Show up anyway!! There will be lots of NL Hold'em (both cash games and tourneys), but we're REALLY pushing for a HORSE tournament as the "main event" - just to be different from previous regional Chiptalk meet-ups.

You gotsta come, dudez! There will be plenty of people playing NLHE, so show up even if you don't play HORSE. And it's a CT meet-up, so bring your tradeables and sample sets and whatever. Show off your awesome chips. It'll be a blast!!

A post both to bump this thread and ask a question that I have, and others might too: what's the parking situation at the meetup? Paid lot, on the street, etc.?

On the street is good. Either on Landsdowne or on Dupont. Landsdowne's probably a better bet, south of Dupont.

I'm interested to hear how the Main Event HORSE tourney turns out. Have fun, can't wait to see pics.
