Windy City Blowout III - are we ready for a Midwest meet-up?
There's an opportunity for a 3rd annual Windy City Blowout autumn meet-up. We have a terrific Chicago host and location alread volunteered. It's late in the game though to begin planning though so I'd like to get feedback as to whether it's even feasible prior to proceeding with plans.
This would be a traditional ChipTalk meet-up beginning on Friday evening and lasting until Sunday evening. Lots of poker including the 1st annual Tom Barnard memorial No-Limit Hold 'em tournament is planned. There will also be lots of fun, food, drink, chip trading and general festivities involving your fellow CTers.
Please respond to the poll and comment as well as to preferences.
Cheers.

I'm in assuming my schedule allows.
Edit: I might be able to come on either of the weekends mentioned, but both are mighty short notice and could be difficult. To be honest, a date in Jan or Feb might work better.

Re: Windy City Blowout III - are we ready for a Midwest meet-up?
If you attended either of the last two meet-ups - WCB II or the Lone Star Roundup - I sent you an email with this thread as a link. Note that prior meet-up attendance is not a requirement though.
Also, JCTC and I are making available the Johnny5 designed hotstamped t-molds that we had made by HPC for the WCB II. If you haven't yet played with these awesome chips, you owe it to yourself to do so.

The possibility of early '09 for the meet-up is being discussed Leonard. I'm somewhat skeptical just based on the typically unfriendly Chicago winter weather that we have here. Attendees votes will rule though and us locals have to be here anyway so hey, what the heck?

Um? Is there a problem with the poll or thread for you? All I see here is the popcorn eating smilie and I'm not sure what to make of it.

Re: Windy City Blowout III - are we ready for a Midwest meet-up?
I take it he is watching and waiting to see what transpires.
I believe either date would work. Like Andi says, Midwest winters may want to be avoided.
Ooops - I think only the first date would be totally open. I have tickets to DET vs WSH on the 26th. If it was that weekend, I would be out for anything on Sunday.
So, I should be in for either date, totally or partially.
That's taking a simple answer and making it way more complicated than need be, my main MO in life.

I think late March or early Apr 09 is better. Avoids the really bad weather, summer is not here yet, it doesn't fight with the holidays, it gives time to plan and communicate, it gives people time to save money, etc.

Re: Windy City Blowout III - are we ready for a Midwest meet-up?
Maybe both could work out though. In '06, '07 and '08 we held meet-ups in both Autumn and Spring (10/06, 4/07, 11/07 and 5/08 if memory serves). I realize things have slowed down a bit here at CT, but was kind of thinking we could do the same this year if enough folks can make it.
