Chiptalk Missouri meetup 2008??

Anyone out there interested in a chiptalk meetup in Missouri sometime in 2008? I could attempt to work something out with one of the local casinos to have tournaments in their poker room and get cheap room rates and stuff.. If not I could rent a banquet hall. We rent one a few times a year for a good size buy in deep stack tourney. We could have it coinciding with that tournament at some point. Have a regular tournament and a chiptalk member only tournament the night before or something. Not sure if I am going about this right, but want to get the ball rolling....

sweet. Hey I love springfield. my wife's dad used to live there. they recently moved to joplin. We come down for the ozark open bowling tournament every year. WE love Nakatos....

Count me in for sure. A Missouri round up would actually be realistic for me to attend. I won't have the time or the cash to take off for Texas, Seattle, or Vegas. So yes, that'd be just fantastic.

Sweet. we should try and decide on an approximate date. Will need a few months advance notice to get all the kinks worked out. Depending on the turnout, we could have this in Kansas City at one of the casinos. I know a couple of people at Harrahs, i could see if they would host a couple of tournaments for us and give good room rates. They have many nice ballrooms, I wish they would allow tables to be set up in them so we could bypass the casino but still be on site. If not, I am sure i can put something together right here in chillicothe at one of the banquet halls. Or if anyone else has a better idea for location lets hear it.

I was thinking a long weekend type event. Cash games and/or sngs on Friday night and Tournaments Saturday and Saturday night. If anyone wanted to play on Sunday that would be fine too. If not travel day. We could have like a chip swap and a buy/sell/trade type setup. I was also thinking of maybe putting together a chip trick contest for prizes or something..

It'd just be a hell of a time As for my input, a whole lot of poker playing and chip talking/swapping/buying/selling sounds absolutely fantastic. I really hope this comes to life.

I tentatively plan on being in Springfield the end of May. If I make it, anyplace would be fine with me. Chillicothe? I haven't been there since 1962!

I was waiting to hear from you Aces. I hope we can make this happen. What do you think?? Have it at a casino if possible or something smaller??? I also want to state that any chiptalk member interested would be allowed to bring a friend to participate. Need to boost those entries...
