T's right.
the ASMs used for the ME on saturday are much better looking in person than in any pictures i have seen, and feel great... pushing me farther into the direction of getting a custom set made.
the heads up tournament was played with the DeCarlo's card room chips as well.
between the HU tourney and the ME on saturday... we got a cash game going with my mixed casino cash set. i am going to try and get some good pics of the set itself [not in use] up on the site ASAP. i was waiting to get it completed and did so just before the meet this past week. Everyone that played with them had nothing but great things to say about them... the compliments were very appreciated as it took me forever to finally complete the set.

It's a gorgeous set too! I won't steal Ryans thunder by revealing them but there are some real gems in his set...with chips I don't think I've seen many, if any, use in a mixed paulson set. Very yummy colors and spots.

This is how the hand went down 9 handed
I was in the SB or BB with A3s
Ryan was under the gun with J8s
Scott was on the button with K10s
Flop Ad 6s 7s
I check, ryan bets, scott calls... back to me I check- raised and got called in both spots.
Turn is the 9s
I bet, ryan calls and scott moves in, I call, ryan calls
river not sure but ryan could only catch the 5s for the win, scott had the 10s

HORSE Tournament results:
Congrats to Jeff and Kari, who chopped according to chips, giving Jeff top honors and the trophy. We played with Buddy's gorgeous Pharaoh's.

Gotta blame Jeff for dealing that flop, and then the perfect turn and river to keep you in it

Yeah...for HORSE, Jeff and I were in the exact same seats, at the exact same table, with him dealing again. His dealing "shennanigans" continued on Sunday and I game him the business the whole time. But, this time he benefitted from it so he continued to ignore me.
I'm not sure the exact percentages of blame, but I'll put 60% on Jeff for his dealing and 40% on me for bad decisions on top of that. Or maybe its 100% on Jeff because he knew in advance that I'd make those bad decisions.
And he did that to his roomie and his airport ride home. What's the CT community coming too?! Its really sad!

I'd blame Jeff 100% I'd have made the same call on the river you did if we switched spots...probably even quicker.

Re: Texas meet-up in Spring 2008 - April 25 - 27, 2008
Just got back, logged on, and surprisingly, feel no urge whatsoever to play any online poker.
It was a terrific event! Tons of fun, with great people, great food, and I got to actually bring back stuff.
As always, it was great to see the usual suspects, and to meet some new folks as well.
Thanks to Buddy, Jana, and Melody for being so gracious and hospitable. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to open up your home to this mob of this size. Everything was great.
Thanks to everyone who had a hand in planning and running this event. I'm sorry if I'm not mentioning anyone specifically, but I'm a little bit oblivious in terms of who had a hand in what, so please accept my blanket thanks in the spirit in which it is meant.
Thanks to Ann, for her great painting! I was lucky enough to win the final day raffle for her last painting and I love it!
Thanks to Dena for not pulling my tile out when there were just two left for the chipset drawing.
Congrats to all the tourney winners! Kurt, you played an awesome game, and your win was well deserved. That was a great call you made against Tim. Jeff, I can't begrudge your win at HORSE too much, because you did deal me some pretty nice hands during the ME. Seemed like a fair exchange to me.
Tim, thanks for the nice compliment. It was a pleasure to meet you and Tara. You were a formidable HU finals opponent, and I really had a lot of fun sitting next to you during the ME. We had a nice thing going in our corner, but then you had to mess it up by losing all your chips to Kurt.
Can't wait to do this again!

Re: Texas meet-up in Spring 2008 - April 25 - 27, 2008
wow.
wow.
wow.
I just want to say thanks to everybody for putting together this fantastic meetup. Even if I didn't win the Main Event, it was a thrill to meet a lot of incredible people and play some cards. For somebody who hasn't played in a live game for over a year it was great to be on the felt, fumbling with chips and sweating decisions. It was just a bonus that y'all let me win.
Thanks to Buddy and Jana for letting this crew of hooligans take over their home for the weekend. A great setup with a wonderful spread. Plus an extra thanks for letting me sneak my luckbox in past security (your teensy-tiny puppydog)!
Thanks to jamby (officially renamed Anti-Ante Andi) for being the unofficial ambassador. Great to meet one of the nicest chiptalkers around.
Thanks to mrticsay for running a great tournament and for repeatedly bludgeoning me with the hammer.
Thanks to abby99 for running the HORSE tournament. Another great format with only one small quibble...you didn't let me win that one too!
Thanks to the dedicated dealers for keeping the tournies running smoothly.
Thanks to tastic for giving me the toughest decision of the entire tournament...and thanks for putting extra pressure on me afterwards with the, "You better win it now," line. Grrrreat...you're busto and your still putting the pressure on me.
Thanks to ten for running a great site and helping people put this together.
Thanks to NanaBanna for a beautiful painting and for being as sweet as in person as she is on the interwebs.
Thanks to Lazerchips for the custom set of faux clays.
Thanks to ABC Gifts for the sparkling trophy.
And finally thanks to everybody else I ran into all weekend. It truly is a testament to this fantastic community to put together such a well run event and to meet as genuinely nice people as possible. Its great to not only put a face, but a smile, with everyone's screenname.
THANKS!!!!
