Re: Texas meet-up in Spring 2008 - April 25 - 27, 2008

I'm so glad that you guys like them. Me too. I told Kari a couple of months ago that all we were missing was the yellow rose of Texas among all the designs he created and then lo and behold we got an offer from BRPro to do the card cappers. My mind immediately said yellow rose!

There is going to be something for everyone in Texas later this month. Even some of those unable to attend are in on the drawing for the 300 piece custom chipset of ASM HHR Lone Star Roundup custom chips from Poker Chips OnLine along with one of Nana's fabulous paintings.

We've got customized trophies from Gene at ABC Gifts and Awards for all of our fabulous events too along with another 300 pc custom chipset going to the winner of the main event.

We've got Kari's great designs on both the custom dealer buttons donated by Joe of Palm Imports that will be raffled off to attendees as well as the custom card cappers donated by Steve of BR Pro that will go to each attendee along with the Tom-terrific name tags to commemorate the event.

There are those gorgeous plaques that Buddy and Kari conceived that I can't wait to see. Add to that the booty of hats and cards that ChipTalk sponsor Alex of Trident Cards donated and will be raffled off to attendees and we're on our way to the land of bountiful.

Wow! I'm excited. You'd think that after all the planning it would be getting a bit anticlimactic now, but it's not. Thanks to everybody for all their efforts and support of this event. It's truly a team effort.

Awsome to have folks like this to help out, can not thank all of you enough for the work that has been put into this event. The chips, plaques, dealer buttons, and card cappers look awsome and make the event that much more exciting to attend.

Thanks to the sponsors for their contributions to the event.

I can say working with Palm Imports was nice and the work they have done is exceptional on the plaques. Thank you Joe.

Thanks to Jamby, Kari, Tom, and Chris for all you are doing and Nana for her art work. I have had a peek, and they are looking very good.

Many thanks to the Chiptalk members who have had a part that I may have missed and look forward to meeting you all in Dallas.

I am getting ready and excited to start....

All I can say is WOW! Everything looks fantastic guys. Great work and many thanks to all who have worked to make this great meet-up happen.

I wasn't able to make the other events but sure am glad I am able to attend this one.

Cool stuff aside, I'm looking forward to seeing those that I've met before and meeting new folks as well.

17 days to go!!!!

Re: Texas meet-up in Spring 2008 - April 25 - 27, 2008

Thanks for putting it in perspective Randy. That's really what these meet-ups are all about - communion with fellow ChipTalkers. I recall meeting Harlequin at the first Windy City Blowout and just being elated! I hugged him so hard that I'm sure that BlondWidow wondered just how much we'd been chatting.

It was just so cool to meet somebody that I'd grown to care about so much and that's what it's all about. I met RTBrandy, Sandy Creek, MRTicsay, W, VARoadsetter, Dajebrizia, FSU88, PhilTheThrill, Jojo, Strange, Space Monkey, Bolgenmod (where are you guys?) and Tomb1 at the same meetup for the first time and thought they were just super cool too. Through Tomb1 I met his better half Chaude and made a great friend in the process. The follow-up meeting in Atlanta brought Trevor who I instantly thought was the greatest thing since sliced bread and of course our dear Buddy.

Meeting you in Las Vegas at the SCS was just super special too as well as Joshua, Matty, Lucky Chick and ButtonPotato and oh so many others that I'm not omitting for any reason other than space. It was just so special. Our last meet-up in Chicago brought JCTC, Ballman, Jason and oh so many new faces too.

That's what this is all about folks - getting to know your fellow chip addicts that have become friends. Trust me, they become even better friends once you meet in person. It's oh so special. Thank yous to our Texas hosts for bringing ChipTalk home to TX. Sorry for getting lengthy and schmaltzy here, but it really means the world to me.

Hello all,

I just wanted to post it here as well...I'm putting together a little Modiano 4-color GB just for the Texas Meetup attendees...by cutting out the shipping I can hand deliver setups for under $11.

But more importantly, we're SOOOO excited that the event is finally coming up!

And they look spectacular! Thanks for posting the pics Kari.

I just unpackaged the BR Pro card cappers for the meet-up and am fondling them right now. Super-sweet for sure.
