New Member Saying Hi

Hi!

I've been lurking for the past few months on Chiptalk and I thought I'd just say hi. Over the past few months, I've learned so much. I've seen so many awesome chip sets and very nice custom chips. Thanks to you guys I've turned into a chip snob.....

My first set of poker chips came from Target, a set of cheap suited "professional" poker chips that I paid $20 for. They were ok but I wanted something better. The next set that I got was a set of WPT chips off eBay. Better but still didn't meet my standards. That's when I found this place

I've got so many sample poker chips both clay and ceramic. Now really I want my own set of custom chips. But I can't afford them all at once (college student + girlfriend = poor ). Now my question.....Are there any custom chip makers out there that will do monthly payments??

Welcome to chiptalk. No monthly payments as far as I know of.

In the time it will take you to save up, you can use that valuable time to conceptualize what kind of set you want and even create mockups and get feedback from the chiptalk community.

There is nothing like having your own custom set!!!

Re: New Member Saying Hi

Welcome, and unfortunately, no one accepts payments.
Although BCC asks for half up front and half when they are finished (6-8 weeks), so that's kind of like payments.

Re: New Member Saying Hi

Wow, thanks for the insanely quick replies. It sucks to hear that no custom chip makers do monthly payments. You would think that they do since most orders are $500 plus not including design fees. The "payments" for BCC sounds good but that'd still a lot of money.......

I'm still learning to use Photoshop but I already know what I want on the inlays. I know there's design forum on CT, maybe I'll check there for some help.

Re: New Member Saying Hi

monthly payments depend on who you deal with, but i mean, if you want chips the cost alot, tell them to hold it for you, give them a down payment to show your serious and once you got the cheddar, you do your transaction then. some people dont like that idea because your new, or when someone is new, and they dont want you to change your mind. while the months go by and that does happen, especially with chips, i want this, no this is what i want, no now this is IT!!!! know you?! so ask, they mite they mite not, im paying someone in payments, once you have a rep here, ull get more opportunities to do so.

welcome.

So True. As time passes you'll find that what you thought you wanted was all wrong. lol However time is your friend use it to really explore the options and get your design concepts tight (and your photoshop skills) lots of good honest advice here at chiptalk.net.
Welcome to the forum and your new addiction.

Re: New Member Saying Hi

You're a student and credit card companies are always looking for new customers. Citibank for one caters to students. Get a credit card and use that to buy your chips, then cut it up into tiny bits and just make the monthly payments to it and pay off your chips.

I think JM already knew that... but what you don't quite realize yet is that killer custom poker chips clearly beats huge debt any day.
