Re: Custom Ceramic Chip Group Buy

A $20 chip is way easier on rebuys for a cash game. And I don't think one person would buy 10c, 25c and 50c... It just allows micro and low limit players to get the same chip set.

As for the $2.50, I've grown fond of it... I never saw a $3.75 PF raise until I played with a chipset that has a $2.50 chip...

I don't think you need more than 4 denoms for any game, cash or tourney (for up to 25 players)

Re: Custom Ceramic Chip Group Buy

For micro games, I like .10, .50, and $2.50 better than .10, .25, and $1.

For other cash games, I like .25, 1, 5, and 20. Using 20's makes it much easier to deal w/ buy-ins...

EVERY denom you mentioned would be perfect for a cash group buy. It covers pretty much everyones bases.

Re: Custom Ceramic Chip Group Buy

As soon as the artwork is final... I will mock up samples.

It does not matter how many denoms you have...

I will prototype and you can order in either texture of smooth chip.

Samples will be forward to Stank for his review. And we will color correct as needed.

I concur, thats exactly what I want. 10c, 25c, 50c, 75c(just kidding), $1, $2, $3, $5, $10, $20. This should accomodate most everyones desires for a micro cash set, which seems to be coming across by several here. Maybe retool some of the higher denoms to meet the lower denom needs. I personally wouldn't want the $2.50 (despite the wide casino usage, its more of a blackjack or other 3-2 payout chip).

Bottom line, I want probably 400, 200x10c, 120x50c, 40x$1 and 40x$2 if possible. If i spend all my money on chips, this is the level i can afford to play at, lol. But seriously, I'd love a $5-$10 buy in actual cash value set.

I mean, is it just so that you can have 29347293874 different color chips on the table or what? I can understand 10c, 25c, $1, $5, $25... and $2.50 if you play blackjack in your home games. Otherwise, it's just stupid. Especially 50c, $10 and $20 chips... what purpose could they possibly serve?
I think this was to accomodate different levels of cash games:

.10/.20 cash game could use .10, .5, 1 and/or 2 or 2.5, 5 and/or 10
.25/.50 cash game could use .25, .5, 1 and/or 2 or 2.5, etc.

And the $10 and $20 chips serve the purpose of changing a $10 or $20 bill into a chip, which can be changed out w/ other players once all the lower denoms are already in play, otherwise you might end up with a jillion lower denom chips, which means your set would have like 2 jillion chips, and that would be very expensive, even at $0.35 per chip.

I agree, all these denoms are too much for one set, but just right for those that want to make the "perfect" set for the stakes they would most desire to play. I agree with what someone else said that 4 (or even 3) denoms is quite enough for most games, but which denoms to include for which game is a matter of preference based on the stakes.

Re: Custom Ceramic Chip Group Buy

ok, i'm going to put some time into this today, so...

NJ says it doesn't matter how many denoms, so i'll do whatever we want. few questions...
if we have TOO many denoms, there will end up being some denoms that are close in color, so do we want to make them all and just have some "close repeat" base colors between the cash game and tourney sets, or do we want to decide on maybe 6 denoms for cash and 6 for tourney plus one ncv?
maybe like 10c, 25c, 50c, $1, $2.50, and $20 for cash AND
$5, $25, $100, $500, $1000, and $5000. the cash would actually have 7 since i'm counting the $5 in the tourney.

thoughts?

also, do we want all kinds of goofy shaped inlays so we dont repeat, or do we want to repeat some for say the lowest cash and larger tourney?

I don't think it matters if inlays repeat from cash to tourney chips.
