NJ Custom Chip Forum

Because of the volume of questions we get on custom chips we've started this forum. We hope this becomes a useful tool for ChipTalkers looking for custom chips. Feel free to post questions, feedback, etc...

Re: NJ Custom Chip Forum

1. Is it true you're just taking advantage of us because we're addicted?

Ok, I sent my art this morning so here are some legitimate questions that might be of use to others:

1. The instructions (see I can read a little bit, not much, just a little bit) say you have to order in batches of 100, 500 minimum total. In my case I'm looking for 600 chips in 4 denoms, if I want extras you can't do a batch of 25 each for the denoms? I assume not but just want to confirm.

2. Do reorders require the 500 minimum?

3. What format do you prefer custom art in (pdf/eps/etc.)? I'd asked about color matching and was told Pantone colors were preferred, can you use CYMK or RGB?

4. What are the dimensions for the edge/wrap? Is this something that you have to do? I know ChipCo won't give you their specs or templates so you just ship it and they sort it out. I'm not sure how to configure the art for this (in the art I sent it's pretty obvious, the "spots" on the face will be on the wrap with the base color being dominent.

5. Come on admit it, Beer Club would be much better than Martini Club (and you from the city that has given us Brewers Art and the Wharf Rat).

6. I got conflicting signals from this forum and the website, is the March Madness deal for complete custom ceramic .79 or .65 (i.e. is it only the stock semi custom faces that get the lower price)? In addition the $25 extra for custom wrap/edges is flat for each order (I've 4 denoms, desire 4 wraps/edges = $25?)

7. Are the chips made in USA?

8. Are the chips 10g? Just curious anything in the 8.5-10.5g is fine by me.

9. 1 week for real, that's crazy.

10. I'd asked before but want to confirm, if we're local we can pick 'em up from you to save on shipping?

Thanks.

PS. Beer Club, think about it.

Re: NJ Custom Chip Forum

Brat... I knew I could count on you kick this off
btw... we did not receive the artwork.

1. As long as you order at least 100 you can order any number over that. Example...for 500 you could order 100,125,125,150.

2. Policy is 500 min but I have done many 100 pc add-ons for customers. I just have to fit them in when I can. If you can live possibly more than 1 week wait there will not be a problem.

3. We really prefer AI or second EPS. However, many people that do not do graphics just take a jpeg and save it in AI. We are really looking for clean vector graphics. The better the image we have to start with the better the end product. Because a jpeg looks great as a 7inch circle doesn't mean when reduced to chip size you will be able to recognize it. We can use a high quality jpeg or gif but it needs to be at actual inlay size to maintain quality.
As far as colors... we work mostly in Pantone but you can use any spectrum. The process for making these chips does not allow for true color matching. The substrate is not a pure white like paper and the process also creates a slight color shift. Colors are close but never exact.

4. We do the edge here. If you want to play with the edge yourself it just needs to be 4.869 inches long (pi x diameter) by .130 inches high. We do not register rolling edge design to the face... ie. they do not wrap around.

5. I like it... and have already not some Natti Boh chips!

6. March madness deal was only suppose to be for those templated custom designs. Some people slid by... if I quoted you the low price (i think i did) no problem. One time $25 flat charge for all edges... ie. 4 edges $25, 5 edges $25 etc...

7. 100% made in this USA including mold, materials, blank and labor. We have 100% control of our product. There is no way we could guarantee 1 week turnaround without all of it being in the USA. FYI - 1 week is not just for 500 piece orders. We've done 20k+ orders in this same timeframe. I've seen some of the chinese offers but I'm not willing to gamble on the quality of our chips. Its a fairly intricate molding process and we already have enough problems to deal with. Last thing we need is a sea container of chips that warp, fade or who knows.

8. They are 10 grams... they sneak up to 10.2 grams on occasional.

9. 1 week from payment and artwork approval! I don't recall a time that we didn't meet this guarantee.

10. I'd prefer to ship them. We really aren't set up for visitors.

Re: NJ Custom Chip Forum

Ta very much. Thanks for the snappy reply.

I'll resend the art. The PDF I sent wasn't vector so it wouldn't have been any good any ways. I'll send it in two formats and you can pick which works better. I'll leave the wrap to you since you know best.

K.

Natty Boh chips? Really? I mean, really really?

PS I just checked and I accidentally sent the art to info at (your business name) .com instead of .net. I've resent.

Re: NJ Custom Chip Forum

I just finished up my requirements for the 500 custom option at PSO and I am trying to decide which design I like best. Could you please take a photograph of 3 of the designs available (you can exclude the Martini ones, they are already on this website) I only ask because your website dosn't really do the quality of your chips justice.

Thanks

My primary question is what kind of chip are the martini's on. They appear to be on a desert sands base chip rather than the martinis everyone got from the presale.

Re: NJ Custom Chip Forum

Regards the oversized "coasters" that a few have posted pics of on here........what are the requirements to get these made? Do you have to have ordered a set of custom chips? Or, would you consider taking some art and making some of the coasters only?
