Chips: 18,394 | | Yeah, definitely Matsuis, with a nice substantial feel. Plastic composite surface is a little bit harder than Bud Jones, for me.

-Jason | Umm probably whatever you pay for them. KC Chips is really the only place to get those exact chips. The othe Matsui Coin Inlays available right now are the Murphy's on Holdempokerchips.com
I have a sample of the Murphy's and various other Matsui's. They are definitely nice, but for myself there's just something about the metal inlays that turns me off sometimes, while the rest of the time I like them. No idea what it is, maybe I'm developing a mild case of schizophrenia |

Ahhh, I believe this is a classic case of chipzophrenia.
I actually prefer the metal inlay on the Matsuis to the BJs, I know what you mean though, its hard to explain the difference. To me, basically, the Matsuis seem more refined & a bit less 'tinny' looking.

-Jason | The Murphy's go for about $1 each at retail from HPC, but sometimes less on sale. The Rounders Card Club chips were even more expensive, but a great design. And all these Matsuis are nice chips.
I vaguely recall seeing these KC auctions going for about $300 for a 500pc set (higher or lower for specific auctions),which is a pretty good price. Anything between 50¢ and 90¢ would seem to be a good price compared to retail. |

J5 | The plastic in the coin-inlayed Matsui are much harder than the BJ coin-inlays. The samples of the Rounders Card Club sounds like crap because of the hard plastic. They sound like they would shatter into a million pieces if you accidentally drop them. |

Chips: 957 | | I bought a 500 piece set of the KC's, and then went back and bought another set of 500. They have to break-in. Once they break-in thay play great! When they are new, they are a little slick, but they are great now.
I use them most of the time now. When their is going to be some cool ones knocked out during the game, i just wipe the beer off them and go on. I keep my Paulsons for family poker.
I think the Matsui's are great. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
