just wanted to add that a complete set with the following breakdown would be perfect

75 1
150 5
150 25
75 100
50 500

But I could also be interested buing a few chips at the time to build a set..

Also I would be interested in old JB paulson if you have a complete set.

199 chip set of Paulson Scandia Casino+ may be on the market

I have a set of 199 Scandia Casino "Fantasies" that I have been considering selling as I am purchasing a custom set of Chipco ceramics.

I have owned these chips for nearly 10 years and have used them in many of my monthly games, and as such, these cannot be considered mint. However - They have only seen light and limited use (standard poker use on felt - no "Chip Toss" drinking games and no "Drunk Gorillas" - biteing or throwing them when they had a bad beat. ), and although I have not closely inpected them recently, I would feel safe in calling them Very Fine. I can verify, take pictures and give a full inspection inventory upon request but - The edges are sharp and crisp and do not have chips nor marks, the faces are not scratched and the edge spots have little to no wear. Again, I can e-mail pictures of the set as well as close-ups of all of the chips if anyone is interested.

These are the TH&C design chips (as opposed to the unknown origin "swirl" design), all containing the round center graphic.

I would like to sell as a set and not individual chips as I will still use the set if no one is interested in purchasing.

Over the years I have lost 1 of the $25 chips and am currently using a "BuyPokerChips.com - Modern Clay" $25 chip in it's place. This chip would come with the set.

Also - When I purchased the set (in Atlantic City) I also received [8] $2.50 - Pink "Fun Nite" TH&C hot stamped chips as blackjack payout markers. These, too, would come with the set.

Set Breakdown is:

25 - $1
75 - $5
49 - $25 (See Note above)
25 - $100
25 - $500
1 - $25 "BuyPokerChips.com - Modern Clay"
8 - $2.50 TH&C "Fun Nite" pink Hot stamps.

If you or anyone else is interested - please PM back and I will give you my e-mail address for pricing, pictures, and the complete inspection inventory of the chips. (Sorry - am posting to StandPat's request and am not sure of rules for "marketing" in this forum. Thus all $$ and inquires can be PM's).

I assume your avatar is your chip design. You're not thinking of buying your set through thechipstore.com are you?

Custom Chipco Chips

Yes - well the 1st pass review design from my vendor's artist.

I suspect that it will not appeal to all, but I like it so far. I was attempting to emmulate the Chipco "Casino" design with a "personalized" center graphic that makes it feel as if it was a bit more "modern full face" design. I still prefer the older "classic" clay looks - but I LOVE Chipco Ceramics.

No! -

I did contact them for vendor pre-selection questions and chip samples. My dealings with them during this stage pushed me away from them as a potential vendor. Without going into too much detail: Their pre-sales e-mail responses to my questions were overly condescending, there was a sales/shipping error on my sample purchase causing it to take 3 weeks for a 4 chip sample shipment and, once recieved, their sample quality was ... ehh.

I chose to go with HomePokerChips.com. Their initial customer service was excellent. The samples were very nice (actual Chipcos) and, to this point, working with their artist for my design has been excellent! I believe that their prices are better then other sites as well.

I am purchasing several thousand chips, and as such am getting a wonderful per chip rate (cheaper than most sites are selling stock Chipcos)! The custom design fee was nominal considering what I was doing (I wanted denominations on my chips and am getting 12 denominations between 25¢ and $10,000 to cover real money play through "Fantasy - Big stack" tourneys).

I hope that you are not a "TheChipStore.com" employee/owner as I cannot recommend that vendor to any of my friends. If you are - PLEASE review your pre-sales customer relations and shipping policies. That lost your site this sale.

I am, however, highly recommending HomePokerChips.com based on - Customer Service, Price, Product Quality and professionalism in dealing with their clients.

Thanks for asking.

HELL NO! I have no idea what gave you that impression, but feel free to go into more detail, the more Dan bashing the better in my view.

I only asked because of your design (face wrap).

What kind of samples did they send you if they weren't 'actual Chipcos'?!?

12 denoms - Nice!

LOL - I have only dealt with them on this one issue. As a result - I will probably never deal with them again - so I can't say whether "Dan bashing" is merited or not.

Did you have a bad experience with them too!?

Basically the detail is he said I was nuts wanting 12 denominations. "No Casino in the WORLD carries 12 denominations!", he wrote. I am not a Casino Inventory specialist but:

a. I find it hard to believe that NO casino stocks more than 12 denominations of poker chips. When you see 50K, 100K and 200K plaques being tossed around in the same casino that surely has $1 "cheques" and up!!

b. I don't give a Rats @ss if there ISN'T a casino out there carrying 12! These are HOME GAME chips!!! I'm not a !@$% casino and I wanted denominations to cover the gambit of games that I play; from small "real money" buy-ins to the full scale of fantasy stack tourneys.

If our poker crew wanted to fit in a quick tourney in the middle of the day and we want $800 starting - I wanted the denomination range. If we wanted to have a longer $1000 to $5000 - I wanted the range. if we had 15 players for a day $10K works great. If we were limited on players and wanted to play a HUGE 100 to 150 chip count 1mil stack - Then I wanted the range! I am going to spend my money once for custom chips - I wanted the range to cover all expected play.

- OK - I've vented!!! (P.S. - THANKS for the comment on 12 denominations!)

I only asked because of your design (face wrap).
ops: - Excellent Eye! (OK so I DID get one thing from TheChipStore.com) - I "borrowed" one of their face wrap designs. I guess that means they WERE actually good for something!

Because Chipco face Wraps RARELY match up with the rolling edge spots - I wanted to make sure that my face wrap design was dinstinctly separate from the edge spots. This wrap served two purposes.

1.) It was definately a distinct entity, separate from my edge spot design.
- and-
2.) As you can see - my design is based on Family Heraldry. Maxwell -> Scottish. The Chipco "Casino" design lookes like a Scottish shield called a Targe. This face wrap adds to that design feel as it looks very similar to the rivet design on actual bucklers/targes. (Ok - I was reaching but I liked the overall look - Don't tell Dan that something of his was actually good. )

1 Was! It wasn't too bad quality.

However the other 2 were some unknown thing! (I think I said I got 4 samples - WRONG - only 3! So 3 weeks delivery for 3 chips!)

These two are some injection molded chip - unknown manufacturer - the standard 11.5 gram metal insert manufacture. Very similar to a Neophyte or Soprano with the plastic/composite being much harder (about the feel of a 4-aces) rather than the more soft/rubber/clay of the other two. They each had a center print that was printed separately and glued/pressed into the center. The edge spots are all white and the paint wrap sucked (looked like a tiawan import!!!) They ARE NOT shown on their site and further destroyed my confidence in their abilities!

Thanks J5 - Good to vent with someone on the whole issue. Do you charge for chip therapy!?

Quote:

Personal Opinion - Both are GREAT quality and I actually like the Scandia fantasys look better. PLUS - $2 a chip for the Scandia vs. $5/chip for Conado. However - I agree, Condado IS sweet!

Okay, so what are the other three denominations if you're only going up to $10,000?

I figure these have to be 9 of them:
25¢, $1, $5, $25, $100, $500, $1,000, $5,000, $10,000

$2, $3, $10, $20? Any of these right?
