So you join CT in January 2007, you pick these chips up for face value in the Detroit area, you get enough CT chips to sell your live chips to us 6x-12x what you paid and when you sell out you can buy more. Nice business! I don't have any problem with paying more than face value for fractionals. God knows I've done it plenty and these are nice looking chips but I don't mind saying that I'm very uncomfortable with what you're doing here on CT.

It's not like he did anything wrong. He went in paid $25 for a rack and walked out with them. Maybe he had to dish a few more dollars to get them out of the casino but considering what the cost of the chip is, he made out on the deal. So what if he maybe committed a felony and is now using ChipTalk as a vehicle to sell those chips. He's not violating the CC rule, just breaking a few laws that's all.

This is like going into a retail store, finding a shirt you like, switching the tags from $100 to $25 and paying the $25 and walking out with it.

I gotta say that I agree with everything above: asam's opinion, Se7en's opinion (except that laws may be broken and its like switching price tags) and SOK's retort.

That said, if you disagree with the asking price, simply don't buy. SOK is looking for a market. Many people don't have a nearby casino with fractionals or the patience to put together these racks. At least a few of those people are willing to pay 12 times face value for these chips. If its not for you, put your wallet away.

I don't see how you can do that Matthew; but you must know what you're talking about. SOK has every right to offer his chips at whatever the market can bear. The market knows whats right better than I do. I suppose the M2M section is not the proper forum for this discussion but I felt compelled to say something. CT is more than a market place to me.

You're absolutely correct, he can offer the chips for sale for any price he chooses. I'm just saying, I'm in the market for 25 cent chips and this is what I'm willing to pay for a rack of current chips.

The market is what people are willing to pay, I'm simply stating what I am willing to pay.
