FS: 620 Mardi Gras Queens + racks

Everyone knows the story behind these chips, so no need to go into it again.

These are from the initial offering from CurseofThorn, and have been used twice by me. Chip condition ranges from used ($1 & $5) to great ($100), and 7 racks are included.

Chip breakdown is:
300 @ $1
200 @ $5
100 @ $25
20 @ $100

Any interested offers? I know what other sets have sold for, and don't need to get rid of them; however, if someone seriously wanted these, I'm willing to discuss pricing.

(FYI: Shipping would be from Niagara Falls or Buffalo...)

(And pics to come later, if necessary...)

I offered you $100 more than you paid, and no reply?
What kind of profit do you hope to realize?

Not trying to be a butthead here but how do you know how much he paid? The chips weren't offered at a steady price. The $25's and $100's were more expensive and different people paid different prices for them. I don't even remember what I paid for mine.

Also with the reissue that PI may be doing at an offering of $.69 ea, will probably drive these prices up as they are the chips that were actually in use on the ship and not remakes. One other thing to consider is that the OP stated he not need to sell the chips he was just entertaining offers. He may be contemplating your offer and it has only been two days. The chips were a steal of a price when originally offered, to get them now at near that price would be very fortunate.

Hang in there I am sure he will be getting back to you.

- Couga

Re: FS: 620 Mardi Gras Queens + racks

Just hoping for a reply, that's all. I've kept an eye on the market. I bought a lot from Michael as well, so I know the price he charged for each denom. I've bought more MGQ from others, and I do have a fair idea of the market.
My problem is this: I have other offers to consider, and I was simply hoping he would acknowledge my contact.

I'd like to know, that's all.

First off, thanks for the interest...

However, allow me to elaborate on some of the comments Couga has made:

1. To assume you know how much I paid for these is foolish: Michael's prices varied as his supplies changed, so I would be interested if you could tell me when I purchased these, and what price(s) I paid for each denom... and even if you knew what I paid for them, those values aren't valid anymore due to changing market conditions.

2. The profit I hope to realize doesn't have any effect on this. I can hope that someone will pay me $10,000 for these chips... but I know they won't. I see listings on Ebay, and those prices change depending on what's in the set. A month ago, a set of 500 went for about $.60 per chip; another one just sold by a fellow CTer was going for about $.50 per chip last time I checked, but had $10 chips instead of $25s and $100s.

3. Pricing on these may be affected by Palm Import's decision to reprint the chips. Suddenly, the $1 and $5 may go up in value, and the $25 and $100 may go down.

4. I replied to everyone who sent a PM, explaining I've been away for the weekend, and hadn't had time to go through everything yet.

5. Finally, as Couga said, I stated in the original post that I didn't need to sell these chips, but I would if I received a serious offer. I received a couple offers, and your opinion of the set's value is lower than what others think it is. And a couple people quoted the range that Michael is selling them for... you were below that as well.

****
To everyone else:
I'm contacting one of the people when I'm done this, to discuss his offer... I'll let people know what's going on afterwards, but I'm not interested in splitting the set up. It's the $25 and $100 chips that give this (and any set) its value right now, and I don't want to try and worry about shipping to multiple locations.

Thanks for your patience...
MacGrad

Re: FS: 620 Mardi Gras Queens + racks

I should have PM'ed instead of using email. I'll keep on buying the darned things, but it's hard to get a fix on a market in such flux. My method of adding 40% to my cost from Michael seemed to make sense at the time.

I am one of the doubters regarding the expected Palm Imports MGQ price bump.
