Re: Engdahl's Chips and .25 skulls

Hi fearlez,

Those are some sweeet chips. I love the feel of 'em. But you have a few issues that may contribute to your disappoinment.

1. Unless you are a chip junkie, and even one of the rarer ones who like the feel of BJ checks, most people wouldn't know about or value these chips.

2. I commend you for putting up a pretty honest eBay auction. However, many chip sellers distract the typical buyer with all their hype -- 100% clay, real casino weight, rare, etc. These buyers get used to the hype, and unfortunately your auction looks a little plain and unremarkable to them. You also didn't title-spam with "Paulson" although you did use Bud Jones... lots of people call their chips Paulson Bud Jones which is sorta correct.

3. These are non-denominated, which could reduce the number of potential buyers.

4. Your starting bid plus a reserve really scares people off. You might try with a real low start bid if you're going to include a reserve, or a higher start bid and no reserve. Having them both is a double turn-off. In eBay, for many people the chase is the thing, so once you get a few bids it may take off and you'll get past $150, but with $150 for starters you may get no bids.

5. Your shipping seems a little high. Lots of sellers have low prices then gouge you on shipping. Your auction looks like a high price plus rich shipping, another double turn-off.

I'm not saying any of these comments are "true" from your perspective, just how they might look to a typical eBay buyer.

Unfortunately, in the wild world of eBay commerce, the market is the market. If you get no bids, then the market is telling you that nobody values those chips as much as you do. Your choice is to either not sell them, or to let the market tell you what they're worth. Sometimes it's not easy being a seller on eBay!

Good luck!

Re: Must Sell For Pny

I'm relatively new to all of this chip business. But i will tell you the info i know.
The chips are injection molded and hotstamped chips manufactured by B&G. The chips were used at "Engdahl's Casino" in Uppsala, Sweden. The chips are rather light, 8 grams, but they stack and shuffle really good. Most of all they look really good. The chips have the feel of BJ chips. The chips have recessed centers but I wouldn't recommend labeling these as they are so unique/secure as they are. That aside, they are perfect for custom labels. There are no more of these available and there never were, in my possession. The remaining chips of this set were lost during the years at the casino, so it is pretty much impossible to get more of these. Basically, you will be the only one with these particular chips as they are real casino chips and no one can get chips like these, atleast not with the same hotstamp. Tomb1 seemed to know a lot about these, pm him to confirm this.
