Etiquette question?
Friendly cash game we have every couple months. Only about $350 total. Everyone is about even in chips after 2 hours of play. Noone has huge lead. One guy hits a huge hand and has about $175 in chips off this one hand. Immediately gets up and cashes out and goes home. Everyone was turned off by this but I guess its his right? Your thoughts?

Re: Etiquette question?
That move is pure BS. I usually ask players to give a rough 'notice' of when they will be leaving...preferably :30 to 1 hour before they know they have to leave.
It may be his right to leave after winning a big hand, but it is definitely bad etiquette. I would have mentioned it right there on the spot, and given him hell for even thinking of leaving like that.

Re: Etiquette question?
That is some bad attitude, but still.... it's a cash game so theoretically you can quit after every hand.
Just don't invite him back, end of story.
Forcing things wont help, they will just fold and pay blinds for 30 min and then leave. A more strick invitation-policy is the best way to avoid buzkills like these.

+1. Minimum 30 min. notice is required to avoid looking like a tool. Unless busto of course. Also you should remind everyone when it is your last orbit.

Re: Etiquette question?
This is what we do at my place, and if you don't do it be prepared for ridicule and a non-invite from now on.

You've hit the nail on the head. A quick word in his ear would maybe be a good idea.

I like this policy...I will intitute it at my next game...It's pretty perfect. I think a rough time is a little much for a cash game IMO, but letting the table know this will be your last orbit is a great idea...

Re: Etiquette question?
I'm guessing he didn't leave in a hurry for any reason other than winning the big pot?
It is an issue of ettiquite. If you can afford to lose a player don't invite him back. If you still want him at the games just use the advice above. If he does it again then I would definitely put him on global ignore.

This is genius! I think it's better than the ban-hammer. So he'd be voluntarily putting $ in the pot but not eligible to win one.

Re: Etiquette question?
it's probably incredibly unpopular here but i have no problem with what he did. i've done it (not when hosting) and have been warmly invited back and i've had it done at my game (and have repeatedly invited the "offender" back with open arms).
would it make you guys feel better if he threw $xx in the pot to cover his blinds had he announced he was leaving in an hour and just sat there and folded without even looking at his cards?
