Simple Question

hopefully....

according to tomb1's brilliant chip race color-up article (link.....a must read for those that haven't):

Quote:
Starting with the button, deal one card face up...
is this the the player that was the button from the last hand before the break?

-or-

is this the player that will be on the button when play resumes?

Re: Simple Question

Simple answer...and possibly wrong...last player to have the button. Actually, I read somewhere--don't remember where--you start w/seat one or the nearest occupied seat to seat one. That's how we color-up in my home game.

Re: Simple Question

I've always done it, as last player from the button.

Re: Simple Question

Every casino I've ever played in and almost all 'private' games the color up starts in the one seat regardless of where the button is at.

Here are few threads to read up on BCC: BCC NCV chips | How BCC takes care of a bad order | Warped BCC chips

Ask BCC: Why does it take 6-8 months when you promised 4-5 weeks? How come you didn't look at the chips before you sent them out? Why does it take 6+ months for BCC to make good on a bad order after waiting 6-8 months in the first place?

Re: Simple Question

I agree with Nexttime. In the tournaments I dealt in we always started at seat 1. I suppose if you didn't assign specific numbers before the start of the tournament that starting at the seat just after the button (small blind position) would work too.

Dan's 2 cents

Re: Simple Question

Re: Simple Question

I've always seen it done, the same way the button is found prior to beginning fresh play.

Seat 1 (left of the dealer position) gets the first card...etc.
