Chips: 225 | | | Cash Game Omaha situational rules??? Hey All,
I have two ruling questions that always seem to come up in my home games and I need a definite answer if anyone can help.
1) Is it considered a max raised pot if someone at the table says "I bet pot" when someone already placed a bet out before him??? For example if the pot is $10 and on the flop someone bets out $5 can the next person say "I bet pot" meaning he can bet $15?
2) Do you have to show ALL 4 cards to win the pot if it is checked down on the river??
If someone can direct me to a link that shows these rules that would be great. Thanks. |

pot includes the bets that have already been placed.
And
All cards must be shown at showdown

pot was $10
bet was $5
so it's $5 to the next player when they raise, they get to put that bet in, thus it becomes part of the pot ($20) and now raise by the amount in the pot. |

first to act bets 5
max bet to you is $25 in plo
why: there's 15 in the pot. in PL, the raise comes AFTER your call. so you call the 5, now there's 20 in the pot, and you raise the pot (20). total bet is $25.
betting the pot = betting what's in the pot
raising the pot = 3*the last bet + whatever's behind. |

Betting the pot/raising the pot ....
$10 in preflop - flop comes. First to act bets $5. Folds around to you (so heads up)
You be the pot. There is now $15 in the pot ($10 + $5) so your bet is $15. First bettor needs to call $10.
You raise the pot. There is now $20 in the pot ($10 + $5 + your call of $5) so your raise is $20 more and your total bet is $25. First bettor needs to call $20.

so 10 in the pot and a 5 bet. pot sized raise = 3*5+10=25. |

bet of 5
if you're raising and say pot, it's the 10, the bet, your call =20 is the size of your raise, so the next person would have to call 40. |

In the above, your call is still $5 (not $20) and beacause you said "pot" the raise is the total in the pot, which is now $10 + bet of $5 + call of $5 = $20, so your raise is $20 and the 1st bettor must call $20 (not $40)
A pot bet is betting the size of the pot. Bets from players that have acted before you are now part of the pot.
