Chips: 9,391 | | | Help with ruling: 3 hole cards Had a rather odd problem at the tourney tonight. I wasn't playing at this table, but here is what happened:
Midway through a tournament, in a pretty large pot that started multi-way, but ended up with two players, the board was something like:
The first player to show turns over : to play the board
The second player says he has a higher full house and flips: or THREE hole cards.
It was never clear if he was dealt three cards or if a card from the muck somehow got mixed in with his hole cards. I don't remember if he was the small blind or not, but I suppose that two cards could have stuck together when the hand was initially dealt. He said that he hadn't seen three cards when he checked his hole cards at the start of the hand.
Ruling???

I wouldn't know how to handle it as far as multiple players getting money back, and I don't have RROP in front of me, but that player is essentially "SOL" as far as I'm concerned. The deal will be played, and no money will be returned to any player whose hand is fouled. In button games, action is considered to occur when two players after the blinds have acted on their hands. DEAD HANDS 1. Your hand is declared dead if: (d) The hand does not contain the proper number of cards for that particular game |

The good thing about my homegame is that there are some other players who are finally learning roberts rules and they would have my back. |

After table folding to the SB, SB noticed after calling that he had 3 cards. But before BB checked.
In this case we allowed him to return the amount equal to his call, and declared his hand dead.
He's still arguing about it 10 days later. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
