How many times do you want to run it?

What is everybodies view on this? Is it an acceptable deal in a home game? Or just a gimmick for entertainment like in HSP? Since home games are more of a social affair than say casino cash games, should more deals be allowed to happen?

Re: How many times do you want to run it?

Totally acceptable in a cash game, unless there is a posted house rule against it.

Players still have to agree, you can't force someone to run it twice.

Re: How many times do you want to run it?

I tend to think it's a gimmick. Sure it reduces variance but my home games aren't played for rent money. The idea of bothering to run a board twice to award a $20 pot makes me want to stab someone in the eye.

Well, maybe not that strong, but yoy get the idea.

Re: How many times do you want to run it?

We have never done that at one of my cash games, or any I have played at, but if it was proposed to me in a pot I would consider it.

For the stakes we play at it might seem kind of silly.

Re: How many times do you want to run it?

It's rare, but it does happen in my game sometimes. Only with bigger pots though. We play .25/.50 HE/Omaha with a $60 buy-in and a reload under $10, and surprisingly we get some $100+ pots at times. That's usually when these deals are made.

Re: How many times do you want to run it?

I have a regular at my home game that likes to run it twice. It's never been an issue for anyone.

Re: How many times do you want to run it?

I wish "run it twice" was an option in cash games on PartyPoker: At least then I might occasionally split when I get it all-in with AA.

Re: How many times do you want to run it?

In my experience, pretty much any reasonable "deal", including multiple runs of the board, that all parties involved agree to is acceptable in a cash game.

I'm with Hal on this one, the mere suggestion of it bugs me to no end.

Re: How many times do you want to run it?

Not allow at my home game as it takes time, eats into playing time. The game is too slow already.
