Chips: 1,090 | | | String Bet ? ......... A player in a game I played in last night continued to do the following no matter what position he was in.
Action was to this player and the bet was 3000. Player would say "3000", toss the 3000 in the pot followed by a pause, and then say "raise" and proceed to put in his raise.
To me, that is a string bet, is it?
I called him on it several times but no one at the table backed me up on it. |

If he not takes notice when you call him out then show him out. This is of course if the game is serious and not a very friendly game between friends , if that is the case I guess you just have to live with it |

So he said "3000", pause, and then "RAISE", so that's two actions. String bet. But I guess it's a casual game, so rules are a bit more lax. |

If it was at your game, you shouldn't allow it but if it was at someone else's place and they let it go, I wouldn't compain too much. It is their game and their rules.
It is the movies that confuse most people as it is done all the time in the movies. |

IMO, dad's post is spot on. Don't let it happen at your game, but keep quiet if it's at someone else's (despite being 150% correct).
Definitely reminds me of the "old west" movies: "I'll see your $2 and raise you $5."
