In a split pot with an uneven number of chips, who gets the extra chip?
I believe it's supposed to go to the player "closest to the dealer," but does that include the dealer? Does the cutoff count or is it the closest in the direction of the deal?

I'm going to try and look it up, but thanks in advance.

If a player sits out, and the blinds pass him (both blinds) when he sits down, what are his options? And how does the rest of the table respond?

Does he post both blinds, and then the blinds are not paid by those after the button?

Does he post both blinds, and the usual blinds are also posted?

Does he post just the BB and then does he have the option to raise?

We had this happen at our last home game, and I tried to remember what happened when I was last in a casino with absent players and when they return, but I'm pretty sure I messed it up.

That is the way public poker room do it. If it is hi/lo game, it goes to the hi first then above rule applies. For your home game, do whatever everyone has agreed to before game starts.

I believe #2 is correct. Player who missed both blinds will post both small and big. Small will be dead money. SB and BB will still post.
