Chips: 1,565 | | | League Statistics... This is the league that I just began last night....it was spur of the moment and kind of "off the cuff" and then tonight I sat down and set out the rules we discussed, as well as the first nights results.
Now I would like to have some opinions on what is in place, and what could be done to make it better.
Here are the details: Rules and Regs 1. 1 (one) Tournament will be held nightly. 2. Points will be awarded based on finishing place as follows. ~First out 1pt ~Second out 2pts ~Thrid out 3pts ~etc. ~Winner recieves Xpts, where X equals the number of players who bought in, plus 1 (one) bonus point 3. .5 (one-half) point will be awarded for knocking out another player 4. The player who knocks out the previous weeks winner will be awarded a bonus point. ~If the previous weeks winner is not knocked out no points are awarded. 5. The buy-in for each tournament will be $2, $1 will be put towards the Tournament of Champions Prize Pool 6. All players are eligible for the Tournament of Champions regardless of points earned throughout the season. Tournament of Champions Structure 1. All players will start with T10,000 in chips 2. An additional T1000 in chips will be awarded for each point earned during the course of the season 3. Blinds will start at 100/200 4. All Blind Levels will be 15 minutes in length Here is a SendSpace link for the Excel sheet that contains the Rule, Dates, Results, and TOC Starting Stacks http://www.sendspace.com/file/0t1uxk [scroll down and click the link next to the moving red arrow]
Let me know what you think....all comments are welcome, and greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,

I use the same basic idea in my league.I award points the same, first out gets 1 point, etc. But first place gets 50% of the total amount of players in bonus points (if we have 18 people in the tourney 1st gets 18 points plus an extra 9 points).2nd gets 30% bonus points,3rd gets 20% bonus points.I also have a bounty on the past weeks winner.$10 out of that tourneys pot and 5 bonus points.
Every week everyone pays a $5 fee which goes to end of season prizes and our "Big 18 Tourney".Only the top 18 in points are able to play.everyone gets 1 chip per point.I do give everyone the option of adding on up to half their Big 18 stack.for instance...if they finish in the top 18 and have a grand total of 100 points for the season.I give them the option of adding on $50 in chips to their final starting stack. |

10 points for participation
10 points for each player who busts out before you
3rd place (last paid place) gets 1x number of participants in points
2nd place gets 2x number of participants in points
1nd place gets 3x number of participants in points
for every player you have taken out you earn 5 points
for every rebuy you make, you get a -5 points penalty
this system seems to work quite well for our games, we are mostly between 7 and 10 player. we have T10.000 starting stacks and the first 3 blind levels players are allowed to make rebuys. |

We just finished our 8th out of 12 regular season tourney and our leader has about 133 points and 18th has 35.i know it seems like 1st place has a really big advantage but he has earned it.He shows up every week,he's won 2 tourneys this season and usually finishes in the top.The guy in 18th place has only played in 3.He has won 1 tourney and went out rather early in the other two.So basically,if you show up to most of the tourneys you will make the big 18.
Everyone usually shows up to the big 18.There has been a few times that people who made the big 18 couldn't make it so we had guys that finished 19th or 20th as alternates.Plus of course there is always a cash game going on. |

This Thursday night crew is always rotating and we always play shorthanded- max has been 8 on 1 night in just over 2 years. I figure that everyone will show for the last night plus a few guys that don't play have expressed interest in coming for the TOC so we will probably have a full house in the Garage!!
Thanks again for your help feen and felix, glad to know that I am on the right track! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
