Chips: 48 | | | side bar Okay so i know this is a chip site, but seeing as how everyone here is probably just as obsessed with poker and i don't know where else i can find a consensus like this i need some input. I was playing a tourny with some friends and after about 20 mins we realized there were too many cards in the deck, no one was knocked out but some people were short stacked. half of us wanted to void the whole tourny and half of us said we should fix the deck and continue, what's the proper course of action people? |

10. One or more cards missing from the deck does not invalidate the results of a hand.

They have a link to Robert's Rules of poker which are considered gospel by many. Personally, I can't see how you can address this by starting over from the beginning. I'd say as no single person was at an advantage or disadvantage, fix the deck and continue on.
The other side of this, is how did it happen? Were you running 2 decks of the same cards and colors (not a good idea)? Did no one check the deck before you started (also not a good idea)? |

Chips: 48 | | | Re: side bar we did continue, we were playing with a deck and someone spilled dr.pepper on it, so we switched decks, and foolishly we forgot to check, i was also in favor of continuing but the arguments to void it were interesting. |

If in a particular hand you discover extra cards, ie. two ace of clubs, or cards with a different back, then that particular hand is voided, with everyone getting their chips back. However, you played your first 20 hands with no apparent problems, so I do not see how anyone was specifically disadvantaged, and could argue they deserve a fresh start.

After a Ks was found that was creased in someway it was swapped out. Not until over an hour later was it found that there were now two Kc in the deck and no Ks. The brush had accidentally swapped out the card and replaced it with the Kc. The deck was removed, video tape reviewed, but play continued.
Someone correct me if I am wrong on my recall of this event.
