Chips: 40 | | | Showing cards question Let us say that situation has come up:
9 players at table
7 players folded and two remain (heads up)
1st to act makes a big raise
2nd to act calls and raises all-in (would force 1st player all-in if called)
Can 2nd player expose 1 or both cards to 1st player while they are making a decision? |

His cards don't move from in front of him so they never hit the muck or the center of the table. We play it as a legal move. The all in guy is giving a bit too much info, he's basically chasing away the caller, I'd think it's legal because it actually helps the caller if he can't beat the exposed card, it wouldn't hurt the caller at all.

Chips: 40 | | | Re: Showing cards question Let me clarify this more.
2nd player has already gone all-in and 1st player is in the decision making process at the time.
I reread my post and saw that it was not completely clear. |

could there be any other reason we haven't seen some douche do this on tv yet? |

summers eve (douche - lol), should know better. ON TV. maybe not?
my house, anytime you want to show everyone your card/cards - feel free to act. --= they are live cards, face up.... any cards on the table face up are live.... period. solved many q's. its better than the muck. its not vegas either.
i consider it a power move - show them your card/cards and put their stack on the line. for the suckout opponent draw caller.
voltron couldnt form without it - LMAO.

On the river, two players.
Player 1 'Check'
Player 2 'Raise $100'
Player 1 'Hmmmm. Can I show him one of my cards?'
Dealer 'What?'
Player 1 'Can I show him one of my cards, to, you know, get a read? Is that OK?'
Dealer 'Well, you can, but it's real bad etiquette. There's no rule to stop you, but i'ts seen as really bad table manners'.
Player 1 'Never mind, fold.'
Make of that what you will. |

They both made the same straight on the river and SS moved all-in after Daniel checked. Daniel even said something to the effect of "well lets sweat this together" showed his cards. He folded, believing SS had the club flush.
Were there special rules for that tourney? Or, heads up, is it okay to show your cards?
