Hi, I play at a friendly local live tourney for points. (no money). The organiser says the rules are based on WSOP
But there is something in his rules that I would like to check how they do it at the WSOP:-
Basically it is about what an all-in player can win. His rules say that an all-in player can win all of the binds plus an amount equal to his bet from the other players. so eg :-
SB 4000
BB 8000
p1 1000 all in
p5 8000
then SB call the 8000
Our rules say that p1 can win 4000+8000+1000(from p5)
This often happens as we have fast blind changes and seems unfair to me as a player with 1000 who wins this one hand now jumps to 13000.
Can anybody please confirm if this is or isnt how the WSOP do it and if not can you point me to a web page page where I can show it to the organiser.
SB 4000
BB 8000
p1 1000 all in
p5 8000
then SB call the 8000
p1 has a pot he can win with 4000 in it - that's it.
the other 21000 is in a side pot and action would continue as normal for SB, BB and p5.
Another scenario - say p1 all in for 1k, all others fold to SB - he folds. BB wins 3k and p1 can only double up to 2k.

The small stack going all in should only be able to win an amount equal to how much they have from any given player. This would mean that if they go all in with 1K they can only win 1K from each player regardless of the blinds.
To illustrate:
SB = 4K
BB = 8K
UTG = Call
Small stack = All In with 1K
SB = Call
BB = Check
Main Pot = 4K (1K per person in the pot)
Side Pot = 21 K (8K X 3 callers would be 24K, but then you subtract 1k per player to cover the 1k all in bet).
I hope this make sense and welcome to Chiptalk.
