Chips: 2,872 | | | Bounty chip in a split pot Okay, we use the bounty chips in our games where everyone starts with one. My rules state that you give your bounty chip to the person that busts you out, but what to do if you go all in against two (or more) and the pot ends up being split? Who gets the bounty chip? Hasn't happened yet, but I want to be prepared because it's bound to happen sooner or later. I suppose you could have them split the bounty, but that would necessitate making piddly change (bounty chips get cashed in for $5). |

At least that's the way I'd play it...
Or you could give it to the first person to start the aggressive action, (first to go all in). |

Tough one.
I'd almost go with the larger chip stack between B and C.
OR
Make it a mulligan for player A
Trying to think what makes best sense and is fair to all involved. |

Chips: 203 | | | Re: Bounty chip in a split pot There are a couple of ways it could be done. One is it goes to the person closest the dealer. The other is it goes to whichever of the two people splitting the pot had more chips at the start of the hand. It is the same way when there are an odd number of lowest denom chips in a split pot. |

Chips: 177 | | Re: Bounty chip in a split pot I would agree with Vit on using the "odd" chip rule for this. It's known and easy to remember.
However, I'm not feeling the first agressor suggestion. IMO, that's not fair because who's to say the other player wouldn't have been the agressor based on their position or maybe the other player was trying to check-raise or slowplaying and wanted to go ALL-IN once some one bet. I just think that some people might not think that's fair considering it's a 50/50 split.
Now, this hasn't happened yet in one of the tourneys I help run but you can always do this: Since it's a split pot, you can always draw for high card. It's easy, random, fair, and quick. It's a thought.

how about a "last longer" between the 2 who chopped the pot. as soon as one of them gets knocked out, the other gets the chip. though, probably hard to keep track of if you're dealing with 3-4 tables.

If you're concerned about tracking the chip, the person who keeps the chip can just give cash right away to the other player. |

Chips: 2,443 | | | Re: Bounty chip in a split pot We've had it happen at our game. The solution was simple. In a tournament, if two people get knocked out at the same time, their order finishing is the same as how many chips they had before the hand started. But out is out and the losers lose their bounty chip. In a split pot, everything is divided equally among the winners. The bounty is not an "extra" chip of the betting pot. Since the winners had the best hand, the tournament director should take that bounty chip, convert it to cash and split the cash between the winners.
To count the chip as a extra chip is like saying that the pot is $150 but since there are only three $50 chips in the middle, one person should get $100 while the other gets $25. That's kind of silly, change is made and pot is split as close to the middle as possible. Then the amount that cannot be split is given to the appropriate person.
If there are side pots in a multiple all-in situation those people who can win that side pot are also able to get their portion of the bounty chip. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
