Chips: 9,316 | | | O8 qualifying for low Here's a dumb omaha question and I can't believe it hasn't come up before mostly I guess because the gypsy game I play in has no low qualifier...
Is there a low hand given a board like...
Also, to qualify for low must your hand be better (i.e. lower) than 8,7,6,5,4?
If so, that means if the lowest hand was 7, 5, 4, 2s, 2h it wouldn't qualify & high hand scoops?
Just to make sure I have this right, the board _AND_ your hand must qualify for low?
Thanks.

Thanks. | the board doesn't need to qualify. the board needs to have 3 cards 8 or lower for there to be a possible low, since you MUST play 3 cards from the board.
and you are correct that a pair of twos is not a qualifying low hand. the worst possible low is indeed 87654 |

basically, a low hand can be any combination of 5 cards A thru 8 with no pairs (straights and flushes are inconsequential)
so, the best low hand is A2345, and the worst is 45678. also A3456 beats 23456, etc....

Obviously your hand must contain two cards of 8 or lower rank that does not pair any of those cards. |

So even though there are three cards less than 8, your A77TJ board cannot make anyone a qualifying low hand. |
