"I hadn't been all worked up about the state's crusade against Internet gambling, including the new law that makes most online betting a felony.
"Yes, it's insincere. This is the same state that's happy to enable your online wagering if you're playing the ponies."

"It's hard to take coming from a state that bombards us with pitches for the biggest sucker's bet of all. You know, the one they call the lottery."
| I can't swallow the, "Do as we say, not as we do" hypocrisy...
Seriously. Just allow it, regulate it, and tax it. It'll be simpler for everyone. I can use Paypal to place wagers, gambling sites can locate their servers here, and the Man can get his cut of it all...

It just kinda seems like their grasping for straws at this point. does this law just conform to the information being spewn on the internet, or all gambling and poker material in print? If it's imformation on how to play the game properly, alot of publishers will probably be hurtin from that. Whats next?.... will we be throwing our copy's of Super/Sytems in trash can fires outside of colleges all over the country? lol |

I mean I can understand illegal drugs, violent crimes, etc.
But what are they afraid of? If people gamble on-line they won't be collecting any income taxes from them?
I'm waiting for the inevitable bible quote that will say God doesn't want us to gamble on the internet.... To use as their platform for support. |

Rather than sell the website, he should just post instructions on making a bomb. That's legal, and clearly not as dangerous to society as talking about poker.

Chips: 5,070 | | | Re: It's not the first and it won't be the last To the idiots state "leaders", who love to do as they please, not as the voters want (such as the sports stadium that the voters denied but somehow they found a way to tax us anyway and fund it OR, as a teacher, I appreciated the WA voters saying YES to a manditory cost of living adjustment for us, only to have the idiots revoke it and the list goes on). Didn't they just vote themselves a pay raise? Wouldn't that be nice to do! Geeze... | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
