NH Home Game Jealosy... anyone in OH/PA/IN?

Has anyone else from around the country become increasingly jealous of all the chatter about the NH home games? Casinos are fun, fine and dandy but nothing beats the great home games... we had some major regular weekly games back when I lived in Vegas but ever since I moved back to Ohio there is nothing. People around here just don't give a damn about the game... last weekend I took my 10-man oval and CHS chips to my sons little league reverse raffle to make the kids some extra dough. 400 peeps in the 30-50 age range showed up at the raffle and I had SIX sit down to play cards... three of those I am related to and the other three each bought in for $40 at $1/$2. Hell, I've started a pros/cons list titled "Moving to NH after the kids graduate" and I've never even BEEN there

Having said that, is there anyone in the PA/OH/IN chunk of the country that has/has interest in a decent semi-regular game? I am in the NE corner of Ohio and I don't mind a bit driving a couple of hours each way every other week for a well run home game filled with good and/or entertaining people. For me that area would cover Sandusky to Buffalo along the shore of Lake Erie and down to Akron/Pittsburgh to the south. A monthly game further out would be fine as well, I would have further to go but I have siblings and cousins in Columbus, Cincy, and Fort Wayne that I don't visit often enough anyways

You could always attend one of the games, we've had CTers from Canada as well as many different states as far away as Texas attend!

I'm in PA periodically for business meetings (Philadelphia area). If anyone wanted to put together a larger weekend game in the PA area, I'd be interested.

Reasons to live in NH:
  • No sales tax
  • No state income tax
  • State motto is "live free or die".
Seriously though, spend a weekend here for one of the big ones and just get it out of your system.

In October is the big ASM trip with games at my house in Dover NH for the whole weekend. Check the homegame listings for details.

Re: NH Home Game Jealosy... anyone in OH/PA/IN?

Having flown up to NH/MA 3 times now for poker, I will say that they sure do it right up there. Great guys all around. I've been welcomed everytime like I've been playing there forever. Even though I go uber-nit, I still enjoy it.

I am blessed in the fact that I have a large game here in MD. My average tournament runs 38-45 people without fail, and 2 full cash tables one enough bust out. I even sent out an email this week for an impromptu cash game Saturday, and have a good 15 players on Memorial Day weekend attending.

I love playing in MA and NH, but I do love my MD too. (of course, anytime anyone is in town, I can usually get a game going on a moments notice too).... not that people really travel/vacation to .. Maryland.....

-- reasons to move to MD... WE HAVE CRABS!!!...

At least it's easier for you to travel to these awesome games. Try living overseas and reading about the fun everyone is going to have
