Here is where we discuss more gamble for the Jim B weekend
OK, there seems to be a lot of people lining up to get in on the Jim B retirement action. Some interest in extended gambling for those flying in has been suggested.
Since the MA/NH CTers are well known degenerates, we MUST do this for our traveling brethren (and sistren?).
I have nominated myself as a host, but am willing to give it up for someone with eather logistics. I am an hour from portland, an hour from MHT, and 80 minutes from Logan by super easy bus or train. Amtrak also goes from Portland to Dover.
So, is there a better location, and if not, are we doing this?
I have 2000sf, and 3 bedrooms, and am the sole occupant, so we have plenty of room for gambling and overnight sleep. The microtel and a few other hotels are 3 miles from my house. We have monkeydogs available:
Monkey Dogs of Somersworth
although they have recently changed their name to Monkey Hut.
I am happy to host gambling for all who want to gamble, but if we are flying people in, let's make it a big 'un.
Please, chime in.

Re: Here is where we discuss more gamble for the Jim B weekend
I could host Thursday night and RobinNH could host Friday during the day, if we can get a full table of players.
Or I can host Friday and we can get a party bus or something up to JimB's and play on the way up if everyone wanted to pitch in.
Actually, the more I think about it, Rob's may make sense. I may well have a house (albeit locally, but 10-15 miles further away) by the middle of this year.
Rob - are you still possibly taking the Monterey job? If you're definitely staying, I think having you host may make the most sense.

I was going to suggest RobInNH's house for all the reasons he stated.
I think a logical Friday gambolpallooza at RobInNH is necessary then we hit Portland Saturday for the things. I probably couldn't do a Thursday game so much maybe I dunno.

Of course I'm interested in Thursday and Friday poker prior to the festivities in ME, or my name isn't abby99.
Sis and I might kick around the Portland area on Sunday before taking off for Illinois or Foxwoods. We hear Maine is gorgeous, especially in early October, and I'm always up for some good local cuisine (mmm, Maine lobster!).

I have not told them in Monterey, but I will be declining their offer on friday. I will 100% still be in my house in October.

Portland is known for their great restaurants. You will not be dissapointed. I think October might be past lobster season though.

Re: Here is where we discuss more gamble for the Jim B weekend
Seems like there is enough momentum form the locals that I will just plan on hosting this. I am a good and proper ne'er do well, so I will plan on taking off whatever time needed for however much gambling we can do.
Right now the plan is for thursday and friday. I'll expand to weds should the desire arise.
Should I look into meat guy for friday?

Lock up seat #2 for me at casa el vitaminio. In for whatever days this goes off. In for food, just tell me how much. In for keg just tell me how much.
Can I also lock up a guest suite? I plan on getting smashed. Or I can bring a sleeping bag and play HU4FLOOR.
I just had the funniest thought. Guinness and Trav were wrestling for the bed in the Jbutler suite at the BBotB II. Guinness lost, got the floor.
I had forgotten until I saw CLB cleaning up for a house showing recently, but there is a 2nd pullout bed under the main bed.
My bad G. Bad fold on the turn.
