I think you already did that to me in Illinois.

Yeah great pics. I love the action shot of you dealing in the tournament (the ghostly image of the card flying).

Re: Windy City Blowout IV - June 1-3 ... Sign up Here!

I had a bit of time and wanted to say how nice it was to have everyone over.

Besides the Tourney results, the team results were:
1. k9dr (2) and pltrgyst (5)
2. Pebbles (4) and Sandy Creek (9)
3. Josh (1) and Courage (13)
4. FSU88(7) and MGM Grand (11)
5. cdnmoose 8 and mmoose (14)
6. RIch (3) and DJMarc (20)
7. Jamby (10) and Abby's Sister (15)
8. Jeff (16) and Whataboutj (19)
9. Guinness (17) and RHBergman 18

It was great company.

DJMarc was one of the new Chiptalkers, and he fit right in. Great conversation and he instigated some gamboool right away with some prop bets (that I didn't collect on once!!!)

It was also great to get to spend time with Pltrgst...I felt like I knew him from his posts, but what a good guy. He drinks good booze (Balvenie!!! and some awesome rum). That counts for a lot.

MGM Grand - It was great to play poker with you. Your wife was charming and thank you for the Cody Road small batch bourbon! I love bourbon neat or on the rocks, and Manhattans are my favorite mixed drink. The Cody Road came out the day he came to Chicago. What a treat!

Josh - thanks for your generosity! I didn't open the envelope until I cleaned up on Tuesday night, and wow - I appreciate it. I dealt the last hour and a half of the tournament when Josh and k9dr had their epic heads up match for the championship. They both are incredible poker players and it was a lesson in patience. k9dr is a good guy, and we had a chance to catch up after meeting and Courage's last game.

CDNMoose & MMoose brought a bunch of Canadian treats. I liked the catchup potato chips especially. Lindt chocolates, maple cookies, moose pencil, etc. Both very tough players. Fran was great to talk to and Rob kicked some butt at the cash table I was at.

It was great to see Jamby, GWhiz, WhataboutJ, FSU88, Sandy Creek and Deena. They're all Chiptalkers who have been been around for quite some time. Jamby was one of the forces behind starting up the first Chiptalk Meet-up and has been involved in the planning of all of the Chicago meetups. Sandy Creek is an incredible cash AND tourney player. Dena (Pebbles) placed fourth in the tourney and is a awesome help organizing the game and keeping it straight. Nothing escapes her notice.

Call them what you will... The Three Amigos; The Unholy Trinity; Moe, Larry and Curley...Berg, Courage and Guinness are about as fun to play poker with as anybody can be.

Abby99 and Abby's sister showed everyone such a good time that they almost got to the point that they took Berg and Guinness out Friday. I think that's saying a lot.

See you all next time.

I thought Tim and I did significantly better (like 16 and 17).

Jeff - you put on one hell of an event. It should be a template for how these go in the future. Well done and thank you for letting us turn your beautiful basement into a den of degeneracy

REALLY sorry I missed this -- no way I'm missing the next one. Or Derby II in November, for that matter.

Thanks everybody for the updates, pics, videos, and awesome trip reports; almost feels like I HAD attended. Sounds like a great time was had by all, except maybe Guinness' head -- can't hardly believe he actually quit and left early when degen pokerz ackshun was still available.

Courage, I'm STILL lol-ing at that HP cop pullover conversation...
