Last hand at 4am'ish was three way all in SOHE ($1300'ish pot). Berg won both. Courage and I sulk to bed.
Courage and I did several $200 and $300 flips. Although I had a good comeback, courage wins. Thank god two more days of gambo.
Courage.... Come pick me up at the hotel!!

Tim and I meet up at Beer Works in Logan Airport 2 hours early. We start throwing back some beers, go to our gate, delayed. Back to bar, more beers. Back to gate, delayed. Back to bar for beers. This time we don't goto gate at all, and they call us over the airport-wide intercom. We race to gate, last chumps on plane. We separately ask the flight attendant for beer and she tells us both we've "overserved". Wha??? I feel like a Bjorn Borg tennis ball.
Whatever. We play HU SOHE for about 30 minutes with my Terrible's HU set. Down 300 when I miss all the things on various draws. Everyone is staring at the overserved drunk idiots playing HUONPLANE with poker chips on our drink trays. DEGEN4LIFE.
We get off plane and we need to gamble ASAP, so we eschew the rental car I already paid for thru Priceline and get a cab to Abby's to save time. This was my brilliant idea at the bar. Ends up being +EV when we learn everything you ever wanted to know about Eastern Europe from our Polish cab driver when Guinness grills him with questions for the entire ride. Honestly, this is the only enjoyable cab ride I've ever had in my life. He also shows us Lake Michigan, which is more like an ocean, but Abby is close enough to it that we decide to swim to Canada if we go busto. More on Canada later.
So far, Tim and I are drenched in the warm familiar smell of full degeneracy.
Get to Abby's. Fawesome setup for poker. Her sister is firing beers at us as fast as we can drink them, with snacks, pizza, late night Bailey's and coffee, brench toast bake with eggs and sausage, all the things. Abby and sis are fantastic hosts. Her place is like Mecca for poker chip enthusiasts and she really should take a pic of her chips in the cases on her wall. Just awesome.
We start off at 6pm buying in for 120 playing O8 2/4. I run that up to 240 or so with a couple of scoops on all capped streets. Tim is hyperventilating wanting to play a non-limit game. We finally switch to PLO/NL rotations once K9DR is in the hizzy around 10pm. Courage and I do a couple flips around 7pm when he gets there (CT tourney $50 LL with pressed action). I scoop that, and we do a couple more 3 way flips with Tim. I get my $300 I lost on the plane but Tim and Courage keep flipping throughout the night. 300, 400, 500 a side. Crazy fun action to watch.
I win a big holdem pot vs Tim with K8 vs his T8 on a 88x flop. Up around 350 but I get felted versus Courage on a tough beat. Buy back in and make an awful call against Tim at PLO. Back in for my 3rd Hindi. I make two really tough laydowns vs Abby and 3 way and they're both correct (2nd nuts). I also fold K99J on a Q-8-Tr board when the J comes on the turn 3 handed. Put Abby or K9DR on AK, neither had it, missed a $400 pot.
K9TT double suited with a raise and 3 callers (Tim, Courage, Abby). Flop JAQ. I lead out for pot (50ish), two folds but Abby repots I call. Turn pairs the A. Ouch. I bet 1/2 pot, she repots, I begrudgingly fold.
SOHE commences and I have about 4 fiddy behind. Too many crazy hands to relate, but I win 3/4 a pot against Tim for 750 and then double up on the last hand of the night with xx8x on the PLO side (some awful uncoordinated hand) and AA at NL. There is furious reraising (we're playing this pot limit) and Tim, Courage and I get it all in. We decide not to run it twice (too complicated). 88x on flop and nobody else improves. I think Courage had KK on the NL side but both Tim and I had K somewhere.
I'm confirmed ruckbox.
Total day one: 10 hours poker, -1/2 liver inoperable, +8 tacos, 2 slices pizza, 14 beers, 4 Baileys and Coffees, 3 eggs, 7 sausage links, 1/3 bag chips, 6 pieces summer sausage, 1 hamburger and fries.
I seriously need to take it easy today. I feel like a truck ran over me 4 times, spilled aviation fuel on me, and let me burn for 4 days.
LET'S PLAY!

All I can say - it was a very interesting evening! It was like my brother cloned himself x 3 (this is the brother we don't claim).

If healthy, portion of the liver can be removed and it will regenerate.
If the liver is damaged, well, start saying your prayers!

Not exactly regeneration, but they can and do have compensatory growth according to one well-known authoritative source of medical information ( Wikipedia) .

I've been told that if you abstain from liquor for 40 days that your liver will repair itself....Any doctors on the site that can confirm or deny this report?
My buddy swears by it, says his dr. buddy told him so, and gives up drinking every year for Lent...coincidentally around 40 days time....go figure.

Actually, I prefer CP to SOHE. Take from that what you will

Re: Windy City Blowout IV - June 1-3 ... Sign up Here!
Thursday night's game at The Lady Luck Club was a blast. I didn't play, just played the "Hostest with the mostest" and learned a lot watching the Three Amigos play (Berg, Tim and Chris). I held my own last October at the DCS and actually won about $150 but hope to do better tomorrow at the tournament and cash games. I don't play as much poker as everyone else but am so looking forward to playing on Saturday.
Really enjoyed meeting Mr. and Mrs. Moose. Mrs. Moose drank martinis with me so I wasn't drinking alone, can't wait to see them tomorrow at Jeff's. Enjoyed meeting DJ Mark and seeing K9dr again. Just a great group of people!
I went downstairs a few minutes ago and looked at the kitchen and decided that it will wait for me until Monday thinking I'd rather be well rested for Saturday than clean up today.
It appeard that everyone had a great time here, The Three Amigos were funny and appeared to be enjoying themselves. I wonder how they felt this morning! It's a shame that our place isn't large enough to hold a full meet-up, would love to host one.
All in all, everyone had a good time and I'm sure they are enjoying themselves today.
Courage - We have a whole pan of Brench Breakfast Bake left just waiting to be baked.
Proposed marriage to Courage and he accepted, planned wedding for the DCS in August but I have a feeling it was the beer talking and he'll chicken out! However, it gives everyone the ability to tease him to death so all is not lost.
Hmm, haven't seen a word about today's game - wonder how it's going?
