My place, 2 July, 7:30
With the LSR III on hold til I get back from sea; I'd like to put out an open invite for a throwdown at my place in San Antonio, this Saturday. Kickoff will be 730 sharp. I have 3 "confirmed" at this time and have room for 5-6 more, considering SOMEONE is bound to cank.
Going to kick it off with a 25 bone buyin with a 5 bone bounty tourney* followed up with a .50/.50 cash game.
*Still haven't gotten around to getting my labels yet for my tourney set. If you don't want to use blanks, tell me if you'd be willing to bring a tourney set. I'm good to go on the cash set. If you're tempted, post below. Thanks

It's a crime that you still haven't gotten those labels. Those chips are begging for a dose of old Neptune.

I know I know...but with everything going on right now, I would've hated having them here then have them damaged. It'll happen, my man....at least that's what I tell myself.

Re: My place, 2 July, 7:30
Ran a 25 bone buy in with a 5 dollar bounty. Pulled it off...ended up with a a full table of noobs (yay). I ran hot all night: flopping sets, straights and flushes. Not a whole lot of strategy involved, cuz it was...well, against limping calling stations with extremely little knowledge of the game. Do I feel bad? No, I do not feel bad!
For example, blinds are 100-200, I'm sitting in 1st position with AK Clubs. I open with 800, one caller, BB. Flop comes AK2 rainbow. He checks, I bet 600 to keep him around (dude never folded in prior hands, so I gave it a whirl here), and he calls (no surprise). Turn is a 4. He bets 1200. I tank for a minute, did he make a set? I decided, no, he did not, cuz each hand he held a superior hand, he would check. I'm sitting with ~4200 now, he's got 2600, I put him all in. Call. "Oh sh*t, he's got the set" I thought. Nope, 84 OS. River was a blank. I rake in a huge pot and pretty much sealed the tourney for myself. I ended up taking 4 out, plus 120 for 1st.
No cash game followed, unfortunately for me...really wanted to get my newly aquired, cleand and oiled PCAs and Empress' into play. Next time., perhaps..

sounds like the games you had running in MD when I first met you. Glad to hear that you took it down and pretty easily too. You should have them over weekly.
Hope all is well bud.

Re: My place, 2 July, 7:30
Thanks, Mark. Yeah, there wasn't a whole lot of stragety going on. I wouldn't even consider it "poker", TBH. I was the "Here he goes again"-guy. Only real hand I steamed afterwards on was when I was BB with 108 OS and the flop was J 10 7. Dude bet 100 (into a 600 pot), I raised to 500 and he flats. Turn is a 6. He checks, I check. River is an 8 putting a gut shot on the board and giving me 2 pair. He bets 500, and I come over the top for 2200. Flats again with 10 9, hitting the straight. That took me down to still 6k or so, so I was still comfortable and confident I could get them back....wh/ i did
