Chips: 7,798 | | | TD sound help TD isn't playing any sounds for me. I've done the work around in the faq by resetting the .wav default player through WMP, and even rebooted. No dice. I couldn't find anything other suggestions in the scottkeen forum.
Anyone here have any other advice? |

Chips: 29,466 | | | Forgive me for asking, but is it safe for us to assume that other applications play .wav files OK, and your problem is isolated to TD?

This is indeed isolated to TD. All .wav files are defaulted to WMP, and all play fine when opened directly. Quote: |

I should add sounds were playing fine the first week I used TD on this new laptop (T42). |

Chips: 1,818 | | I'm not sure what TD is, but I do know computers. I've been developing SW for ~20years.
My guess, based on not knowing what TD is. The audio drivers associated with the application are bunk.
Without knowing what the app is, the best I would suggest is reinstall the app - the audio playback portion may have gotten corrupted somehow.
Crud like this does happen time to time & its a pain to fix / find the root cause of the problem. Sometimes installing a new app overwrites the .dll files used by the "TD" app, sometimes files get corrupted, or moving to XP SP2 ( my personal favorite )
Try reinstalling it.
If you can post more info I can probably help a little more... a link to the app would be best - I just got a T42 wednesday.

Chips: 947 | | | 1. check the TD FAQ, it addresses this. Something about diasbling .wavs in realplayer or something.
2. If you install TD in one location or computer, save a tournament, and try to run it in TD installed in a different location the sound will be screwed up. No fix for that that I know of other than always using the default TD install directory. |

| Maybe that's what happened. I'll have to check to see where I saved my files. Quote: |
